Anyone here know how to get this going?! I've heard sex, walking, pineapples, castor oil - not willing to try castor oil though. Any other real ways to bring labor on?!
Lol. When the baby is ready the baby will come. Or you can allow them to induce your labor. Keep walking and having sex. Sometimes the dr can be a lil off with due dates. Or You can deliver 2 weeks before or 2 weeks after.
DS1 was born at 40+4 and all I did was walk. There was a great park near my house with an easy hike that I did several times. I'd read something about climbing stairs can help, so I figured hiking up a few big hills would do the same thing. I can't say any of it caused me to go into labor though.
The night before I took 1 Tylenol PM to help sleep because I'd been having dull consistent contractions for a week. My water broke at 2:30 that morning.
Good luck, and as frustrating as it is remember baby will come when baby is ready, or the Dr induces you.
Unfortunately, no. Nothing really works unless your body is ready to go. You can try it all but baby will come when it comes. Hang in there, the end is near one way or another at this point!
Reached my due date today and nothing. My BH got super mild and almost non existing. I'm 0% effaced and 0cm dialated. I tried walking, sex, everything but castor oil at this point and nothing. My Ob is giving me 4-5 days max before she induces me and i'm super discouraged at this point

We did lots of walking with one foot on the curb and one on the road. Something about the miss-matched height is suppose to help. You will look funny doing it though! And have someone with your for balance.
You could induce by acupuncture and it may even be covered by your insurance. I recommended this to my SIL and she did this with her first kid. The day before they were going to medically induce her, she went to an acupuncturist in the morning, that evening she went into labor. No way to be sure that it wasn't a coincidence, but it couldn't hurt to try.
I have been walking a lot and my Dr this past week told me to try nipple stimulation. But honestly baby will come when they want to. I think a lot of those tricks only work when the baby is actually ready. Their is an end in sight!
I am 39+5 and as of this past Wed I was only fingertip dilated and soft. I am praying when I go in on Monday I dilated a little more because I seriously would just like to induce and have this part over. This is my 3rd LO and all of them had to be kicked out past DD, my kids just dont like to leave LOLOL
I am also past due. I am supposed to give birth naturally in a birth center so while I know inductions work great, I too am quite concerned that he doesn't come on his own because it means that instead of being in the birth center I spent money out-of-pocket for and with the midwives I spent the last few months getting to know doing a natural birth, I would be in a hospital surrounded by strangers. I don't even have an OB anymore becauase as soon as you tell your OB you are going natural and out-of-hospital they can't see you any more. I always knew this was a risk so have no one to blame but myself but I am hoping, praying, and doing every single wives tale thing I can to get him to come out.
I will say one thing about acupuncture -- I had been getting it for several days in a row once I hit 40 weeks and my midwife told me that while it's great at the very end before you have to do a hospital induction, if you do it too early (and again as everyone is saying before baby is ready), it could result in a higher risk of prodromal labor (which is essentially where you start having contractions and are in labor for days without any or very minimal dilation of the cervix). So just something to consider. I am waiting until 41+2 to start it again.
My midwives are giving me until 42 weeks exactly to have him come on his own. And I start nonstress testing to make sure baby is ok between 41 and 42 weeks.
Best of luck to all of us to get these babies out on their own!

My SIL did this and went into labor a few hours later. More than likely, it was coincidence. Her body was just ready.
Baby will only come if they are ready. We tried sex, walking etc with DS but nothing really helped. So you can get induced or wait. In my opinion if baby is a week late just get induced there is no need for him/her to keep baking after that.

WFT is wrong with you? Stop telling people that there is no reason for a baby to stay inside. Obviously there IS a reason or they would be coming out. Induction is not a minor thing. I know people use as a baby timer these days, but it really isn't. DO SOME RESEARCH!!!!! fuck.

Where the hell did you get a license to practice medicine? Oh you don't have one? Then stop going to multiple threads telling people they should just get induced. Holy shit.
