Parenting after a Loss

hello ladies, quick question about my loss

Hi!
I am sincerely sorry if I am posting this in the wrong place. We had a miscarriage confirmed on June 24th. By the time I was seen, my hormone levels had gone down to 4, and he said it was complete.
I got another positive test today. The office said that it is probably left over hormones, but they should certainly be <4 if that were true, right? I'm concerned about a molar pregnancy or needing a D&C. Should I relax or push them to see me?
Thanks ladies, I wish you all the happiest and healthiest 9 months!!

Re: hello ladies, quick question about my loss

  • I'm so sorry for your loss.

That sounds strange, almost if you have retained tissue. I had HCG go up (& down) after my first loss (& I had surgery), so I'm pretty sure it is possible. I'd ask to be seen and if you can't get in go somewhere else.

  • Thank you. I'm going to ask again in the morning and if they wont see me I'll get a second opinion.

  • Thanks. I need to stop myself from taking them for a while. Its just plain too early for it to be a new pregnancy. I'll come back and update you all. Thanks so much for taking the time. :)

  • I also want to say I thought I posted this in "pregnancy after loss", so extra thanks for not pointing out that I definitely did put this in the wrong place.

  • I'm sorry for your loss. I would push for more bloodwork and ask them what the value was specifically.

I'm sure you'd be welcome to post on PGAL also while you wait to see what is going on.

  • I'm sorry for your loss. I agree, more blood work is definitely in order. May I ask, how far along were you? When did your bleeding start?

  • I agree that I would ask for some kind of follow-up, but I wouldn't worry too much about this at the moment.  Even for a couple weeks after my D&C I was still getting + pregnancy tests.
