Looking pudgy

I haven't gained weight, but I feel like I've started looking really pudgy. I'm at 14 weeks 3 days. I had a bunch of things that made it difficult for me to get any exercise (injured myself, was busy with work, got a cold, etc.) and I think all of my muscle has turned to fat. Is anyone else going through this? I have a job interview in a couple days, and really hope they don't notice.

Re: Looking pudgy

  • Yea this stage of pregnancy can suck weight/looks wise. I don't know why anyone would notice at the job interview though unless they have seen you before? Good luck!

Did you see my HDBD pic!! I have not gained any weight, I am actually still down a pound but I feel like I look like I eat to many burritos! I know its just a phase and probably in about 6 weeks or so I will really pop!
  • I haven't gained any yet either, and am still working out. but these days I'm looking like I've got a mini beer gut...yay me! I'm soo not posting pix

@YaMrWhite, this is a 2nd round of interviews -- I had the first two weeks ago. Hopefully it's not noticeable to someone who's only met me once before! It's not even like the weight is all in my stomach area -- even my face looks bloated. Thanks for the support -- glad I'm not the only one feeling this way.

  • I have bloat that no longer goes away so it just looks like I have been eating too many candy bars. I can no longer hide it so I have been wearing loose tops. This is such an awkward stage, people are not really sure if you are pregnant or just getting fat.

  • I've lost weight and my clothes don't fit right anymore, so don't feel bad, it's normal! Loose tops are my friend. Good luck!

I've been strategically wearing shirts/dresses that hang from my (currently enormous and ever-expanding) boobs, so I have some room to hide my stomach, which is definitely poking out quite a bit in the lower region. I'm almost 15 weeks at this point. Really considering pulling the trigger on some comfy maternity pants!
  • I'm 11 weeks and have gained 1lb but I look like I've gained 15lbs. I have to deal with family drama bc of it but at this point I don't care. In my opinion as long as you eat healthy, exercise, and your OB is good with it then don't worry some of it is bloating and some is weight that is already on your body shifting to other parts.
  • Just wanted to give you supportive people an update -- I got an offer and accepted the position that I interviewed for! I will be starting the job when I'm at 20 weeks, which I never in a million years thought I'd be doing. I haven't said anything yet to my future manager about my pregnancy, but I still have a couple things I can wear (all dresses) where you can't tell at all that I'm pregnant. (I guess it helps that I started out overweight and that this is my first.)
