Does everyone get one of these? I'm supposed to have one in two weeks. My doc said that she wants me to get one because my tummy has grown really fast. ?And she says that could be due to a number of factors, like a lot of ambiotic fluid. ?My theory is that he's going to be a giant like all the rest of the men in my family haha. She measured my belly and all that. ?Anyone else have a similar experience? ?Is it possible for the baby to grew too fast? She told me that he's the reason for my weight gain, that's its all in my belly...and not actually me - which is good news I guess. ?But I really don't know what to make of this whole "your belly grew very quickly" thing. I guess I'll know in two weeks though, but until then what do you guys think?
Re: 3rd trimester ultrasound - growing too fast?
I just has my GD today. Are GD?positive?babies larger? I've never heard that. ?
I've had 3 growth U/S in 3rd tri because of GD- it does make the baby larger sometimes even with good sugar control! And their shoulders can be disproportionately larger than their heads so they get stuck!
Baby has been in the 90th percentile since the first u/s at 34 weeks- now he is 9lb 4oz as of yesterday! So I'm getting a scheduled c/s on Monday- big baby, small GD mama! LOL!
Yes, babies born to moms who have GD tend to be on the larger side.
GD tends to be randon, but there is an increased liklihood of having it if there is a family history of diabetes. But not necessarily. there is a huge family history of diabetes in my family, and mom had GD, but i don't.
Also, if you do have GD there is a higher liklihood of having diabetes later in life
