Benched no more...but worried about vacation

For those who don't remember (I'm guessing everyone; I'm not that interesting), two weeks ago, they found a 4cm ovarian cyst and I was benched for the month. I was also benched from all exercise/activity, which drove me nuts. Yesterday I called to see if I could get a check on the cyst, just in case. Well, I went into today, and it's basically gone! Just 1cm left of a "remnant." I can go back to normal activity (yay!) and can stop the BCPs and start a new cycle (double yay). Originally I was going to have to stay on active BCPs and delay the new cycle until after my vacation.

Now comes my concern. I am going to start letrozole (Femera) on July 13th, and keep taking it through July 17th. I go in for a follie check on July 20th. I leave for a week long vacation on July 26th, which has me worried. I suppose my doctor is fairly certain I'll be ready to trigger by then or he would tell me to wait, but of course I'm anxious about it. My cycles tend to be long, even on Clomid. I've never taken letrozole before. Any thoughts are welcome.

Congrats on the good news!
I'd be willing to wager you'll be ready to trigger before the 26th.

Worst case scenario, if you know you're developing and on track to ovulate you can just make sure you and your husband spend lots of "quality" time together on vaca! I had to skip trigger before for a similar reason. My dr assured me that I WOULD ovulate without the trigger but our timeline wouldn't be exact. Good luck!

I'm glad your cyst is gone and you're off the bench this cycle!! I would just talk with my RE and if they are aware that you'll be away for the week then I would probably try this cycle. Good luck!

Thank you both! My RE does know my vacation dates. I guess if we can't trigger beforehand we'll just make the most of having our own bedroom on the family vacation...

Maybe I'll ask my RE if I should use OPKs if that's the case.

So if you start Letrozole on CD3...then the day before vacay should be CD24? Have you O'ed that late before? My nurse said Clomid shorten the follicular phase more than Letrozole does, but she said I should O the same or a couple days earlier on Letrozole. I ended up Oing at my typical time (CD18).

Yay for a fresh start!! I know your feeling on vacation. We actually are leaving the same day for Destin, Florida however we booked just last month and I totally planned the week around this cycle! So I'll be vacationing during my TWW!!

That is wonderful news about the cyst reducing in size--yay! So this is a whole family vacation? I'd say if you don't ovulate or trigger before going family vacation, just plan to have lots of private time with your H. Did you say that you will have your own private room? At the very least, during bedtime, you should be able to HIO. Good luck!

I think you should be ok by the 26th. Even if you aren't ready for trigger on the 20th, you would probably come back within 4 days. So latest day I assume you would trigger would be around the 25th. Which would of course make it necessary to HIO on vacation but you wouldn't have appointments during that time at least. Good luck!!
