My LO who just turned 3 months on the 7th and weighs roughly 15 pounds almost has a screaming fit once she's been in her seat for more than 15-20 minutes. I take about 45 minute drives to visit family/work and this crying stuff is getting to me. I've tried music, talking, singing, windows down, windows up, etc. I don't know what else to do. There have been times where I've had no choice but to drive the whole 45 minutes with her crying. (I know bad mommy) I feel like complete sh*t for it but life happens.
Any advice/suggestions?
Re: Carseat Issue!
- Wiggling the car seat a bit. I know how unsafe this sounds, with one hand on the steering wheel, the other reaching back to move her, but honestly...after 20 minutes of blood-curdling screams..I'll take what works
- the hair dryer sound on the "Sound Sleeper" app
- holding up the light up/singing attachment from her bouncy chair (only when DH drives , obvs.)
- I'm trying a bottle next! I'm figuring that if she's hot, fluids might help. Though obviously, this is for rides when it's not just the two of us.
- I've heard of car seat coolers, but am wondering how effective they are when you remove them before inserting your LO....
Good luck! Please report back! I know how frustrating and isolating this can be....
