Boobs FTW!

We had to take baby girl to the cardiologist today to repeat the echo she'd had in the hospital on Friday (I guess they weren't satisfied with what they were able to see at that time). This was supposed to be about a 25 min procedure, but she's 5 days old and doesn't take a paci yet/doesn't really having any coping mechanisms yet. She started to get really fussy and then finally let out a super loud shart. image
She seemed to calm down a bit, so I thought maybe we would make it through. No such luck. I was trying to hold her little hands and keep a hand over her mouth so that she didn't get the tech's gloves in there which had the ultrasound goo stuff all over them. After getting herself quite worked up, the tech asked "what will calm her down?" Umm..."breastfeeding." So I whipped out my boob and leaned over the table to nurse her. After a moment, the tech decided to try to
finish the echo as I nursed her. It
worked! I am quite thankful that little miss has taken breastfeeding so well and that I am not modest in the least when it comes to nursing :) (even if my nips are incredibly sore at the moment!)

As for the results, the echo shows a slight thickness in the right ventricle, but nothing that is alarming. The doctor wants to see us in four months to confirm it either stays the same or lessens.
