Horrible horrible name at work

I work in Labor and Delivery. Last week a young couple named their daughter Jennasyd (pronounced genocide).

The worst part is that the labor nurse who was there for the delivery was suspended because she told the couple how awful it was to name your child that particular name.

I have never heard of a worse smush name. Only positive is that most people won't pronounce it right with that spelling.

  • Sorry. Posted on app and I have no idea how it ended up in this board.

  • That is a horrible name...what were those parents thinking? On a different note, I'm not sure if your post technically violates HIPAA, but I might consider deleting it just in case. With a name that common, it might make it easy to identify the child/mother as your patient. What if someone on these boards happens to know them or if one of the parents or a relative does a Google search of the name? I am a therapist and would be fired on the spot if my employer ever became aware that I had made a post like this. I'm not trying to be rude or a smart ass, I promise. :)
