xp- engorgment before baby is born?

I'm just curious if it's possible to get engorged before your baby is born/before your milk has come in? I've been waking up with swollen and heavy breasts that i haven't felt since I was engorged after breastfeeding DS(who is now 7). I'm not really leaking any colostrum. I'm having FI stop by the store to get some thermal packs so I can put them on my breasts...anything else I can do to relieve the pain? Is it possible to be engorged even though my milk hasn't actually come in? If it makes a difference I'm 31 weeks and 4 days today.

  • Alright so I talked with my Dr and she said it's ok and it happens to some women. The colostrum is there and some mornings can feel like they are engorged. She said it's a good thing and will probably be very good for when baby is born and starting to breastfeed.
