Trying to Get Pregnant

quick temp question

Looks like I have strep throat. Lame. So I temp orally but with my small fever should I get another thermometer and temp vaginally until I'm better? or just keep temping orally and make notes in FF? I really don't want to miss the next few days of temping since I'm suspecting to O soon. thanks ladies!

Re: quick temp question

  • I would just keep temping orally and makes notes in FF. Also make sure to really clean your thermometer after each use so you don't reinfect yourself. I hope you feel better soon!

I think temping vaginally would probably throw your temps off more than a small fever.

Keep temping normally.  If anything vag temps will be even higher...
    ah okay. Thanks!

I would think you'd want to stick with orally temping since that's the way you started, and make a note about it...that sucks though :/  I'm a newb too (as you know) so maybe others have more helpful advice.

I'm just thinking if you switch to vaginally temping half way through your cycle then you will have to read through 2 changing variables: fever + vaginal temping  rather than just the 1 variable.

Good luck, hope you break that fever soon!  You got on antibiotics I assume? Hang in there!

thanks for reminding me! Might just get a new one. It never hurts to have a back up thermometer.

P.S.  Didn't see all of the other posts and by the time I posted I pretty much said what everyone else said - whoops!

I would be more concerned about possibly reinfecting yourself with strep if it was the same thermometer.  If you have a fever I'm not sure if it would make a big difference which way you temp? Hopefully you'll still be able to see a shift - and be on antibiotics for 24 hrs so you don't give strep to your DH!

Strep is the worst, sorry you have to deal with it :(

So you clean it every day.  Disinfectant FTW.
yes disinfectant! I will probably wipe everything down once I start feeling better.
  • When you get a fever, it's in your whole body, not just your mouth.
