Reasons for late period with symptoms

I know there are a ton of reasons for late periods but thought it would be helpful if we could chat about our experiences and why we were late, if we know and the symptoms we had along with it..ttc is very stressful and often we are late for no reason, but maybe this could shed light to the possibilities.

I am currently 8 days late with all negative test, have intermittent nausea, tired and acne. I took a hpt and ovulation test and ovulation test was bfp! So my reason for stressing about my bfn hpts and late period was that I never ovulated before so af technically isnt eveb due! Bammm

    That is exactly what I am trying to say. I know now i wasnt late because I didnt track ovulation...now that I got a positive opk I know period wasnt even due just a longer cycle. My reason for posting was to talk to others that have a "late" period and later find out why. I was not asking a question about my experience. Please read post before commenting

    I ovulated later.
    I am breast feeding & my body is acting the fool.

    Bodies are crazy sometimes.

    That is exactly what I am trying to say. I know now i wasnt late because I didnt track ovulation...now that I got a positive opk I know period wasnt even due just a longer cycle. My reason for posting was to talk to others that have a "late" period and later find out why. I was not asking a question about my experience. Please read post before commenting

     Late period usually means you ovulated later. What else is there to discuss?

    So you want to know how many of us have thought we ovulated but actually didn't until later?
    So this discussion is just going to be "me," "me," "me," "no never happened to me."  Really interesting discussion, OP.

    Like PP said, if I wasn't pregnant, my period has never been "late".  Stress has caused me to ovulate later in my cycle, but my period is usually 12 days later.

    Only "late" ovulation can cause a "late" period, am I missing something?  Other reasons that I have experienced: pregnancy, chemical pregnancy with subsequent heavy bleeding that could have been disguised to someone unknowledable about their O date as a "late period".  Annovulatory cycle which then ended with much bleeding after medication.

    I don't understand the point of this thread. Is there a question in here somewhere?

       Me: IR-PCOS, elevated DHEAs, low progesterone, weak ovulation  DH: low volume, low T
    SHG 5/10/13: both tubes blocked; HSG 6/28 = Left tube cleared! Right blocked.
    BFP#1 7/20/13 EDD 3/30/14, m/c 8/19/13, D&E 8/21/13, Chromosomal results = normal, female
    Lap & hysteroscopy scheduled for 10/31, right tube cleared, no endo found! ...Happy Halloween!
    Cycle 14: Clomid (50)+ IUI = BFP! EDD 9/16/14~ Rowan Elizabeth born sleeping at 17w4d on 4/12/14 due to IC.
    ~There is no foot too small that it cannot leave an imprint on this world~
    New RE June 2014. RPL b/w - negative. SIS looking for uterine/cervical abnormalities & Asherman's 6/10/14 - ALL CLEAR!  
    Cycle 16: Natural IUI = CP, Cycle 17: Femara (2.5) + IUI = BFN, Cycle 18 Femara (5) + IUI = BFFN, Cycle 19: Break
    Cycle 20: Clomid (50)+ IUI = BFP EDD 6/20, transvaginal cerclage 12/19, Carson Quinn born sleeping at 16w3d on 1/6/15 due to IC
    Phone consult with Dr. Haney (Univ of Chicago) for transabdominal cercalge scheduled for 2/9/15.
