Carpal Tunnel

Does anyone have any relief methods for carpal tunnel? I wear a splint and sleep with my arms out. Nothing works!!!! I have pins and needles in both of my hands all day and it's hard to close my hand and cut my food. Ice packs on my wrists gives me relief when I'm doing it. However, pain is back when icing is done. In pain and have 7 more weeks to go, help!

Re: Carpal Tunnel

  • Try some arnica cream. My friend has had surgery on both wrists for carpal tunnel and still has pain. The arnica cream really helps give her some relief. I find the cream is better than the gel and the only place I've found the cream in a store so far is GNC. Arnica is a natural anti-inflammatory and was recommended for my new born when she had a hematoma right after birth. So it's very safe in my experience.

I was going to say splints but it looks like you are already doing that. I am sorry, it sucks. Last time I was pregnant I didn't feel my fingertips for the last 6 weeks I think and it was terrible.

I have it again this time and started having really bad pain along with numbness. @flip_flops recommended wrist braces so I went out and bought some yesterday and they helped so much last night!  Thanks flip_flops!

  • It's sad, but I'm getting used to the numbness. Splints have helped. Might have to try the cream.

Steroid injections!!! Go see a hand specialist & get the tunnel injected! I did it 5weeks ago & the numbness went away. It should last me til the baby is born in 4-5 weeks.
  • I feel your pain. I've been dealing with it for awhile now. I was getting throbbing wrist pain almost every night and after 2 sessions of PT it stopped. I still have the numbness in my fingers, which I too, have unfortunately gotten used to!!!!!
