A little weird

Husband and I have been so careful for 9 years. I have never been on bcp...we just used condoms....last night was our first night without and it was weird. I feel like we have been trying to be safe for 9 years and in one night it all changes. Was it weird for all of you?

Well we never really used condoms, just bc. So I guess not quite as momentous? But it was still kind of like "holy shit are we really doing this?!" But then we were unsuccessful that first month and it doesn't phase me anymore.

We didn't use condoms. I had the mirena when we first started dating and got it taken out right before he left for a year long deployment. We decided when we would TTC while he was still overseas so it felt pretty natural. But I'm sure it's weird those first few times. Good luck

Yes! It was kind of freeing to not have to stop and get a condom - and of course when you're trying to prevent you think that if you go one time without protection you will surely get pregnant...not as easy as that it seems! Haha!

Yes, yes, yes!! For both H and I it was weird for the first month or so. I had been off bcp for 5 years when we started TTC, so had been using only condoms.

We made the decision to TTC one month earlier than planned last week...it's surreal. Trying to actually get pregnant goes against everything I've been trying to avoid for the last 13 years!

I used the nuvaring not condoms, and it was kind of exciting at first. Now, the novelty of it has worn off, but I really love not having the side effects of hormonal birth control.

I only used condoms as my form of bc before we started talking about it and to be honest we stopped using condoms before we had said out loud that we wanted a baby, so I guess for me it was just normal by the time we officially stated we were trying for a LO.

Yup bit weird not using a condom during the fertile time! We charted and used condoms if we had sex during the fertile time as our birth control. Best decision ever!
