Details, details... cradle question

So we have a cradle for the baby so that she can sleep in our room for however many weeks/months.  I bought a good quality organic cradle pad for it that claims to be waterproof, but I'm wondering if I need to also buy a waterproof pad to go between that and the sheets.  My friend said that a pad might make it too bulky and the sheet could slip off.  I definitely have a good quality protector for the crib mattress though, so I assumed I'd need some protection for that cradle mattress as well.

Thoughts?  What are your plans?

  • We are getting the family bassinet but it needs a new mattress. I do plan on using a waterproof mattress protector and a fitted sheet. I will likely also put one of those absorbent pads down too.

  • Check how your sheet fits your mattress. A thin waterproof layer is probably fine. I like wool pads and those make the special sheets not fit my co sleeper.
