DD is 5 weeks and was diagnosed with reflux. She was put on Prevacid twice a day, and the pedi also recommended switching formulas to Enfamil AR. I can't use our regular standard level one Dr. Brown's nipple because nothing goes through it. I've also tried the Y-Cut nipple, but the flow is way too fast for her and half of it ends up on her. Should I go up to a level 2 nipple? What does everyone else do in this situation? Thanks!!
Re: Reflux - Rice Cereal
I am planning to try level two also.

We've been feeding her at an angle (she is formula fed) and keeping her upright after she is done for about 10 minutes. Also lots of burping while feeding her (well, we try - she is a horrible burper at times). I also give her gas drops after each feeding - and sometimes in the middle if she is really fussy.
To answer your question, since she's been on Prevacid (almost a week) I think she has improved. I definitely haven't seen any diarreah, and it's hard to tell if it's making her sleepy since she sleeps so much as it is. She still spits up sometimes, and my pedi said sometimes a gas bubble gets trapped under the formula, and when they burp a lot of the formula will come up with it since that reflex isn't really developed yet. Pedi also said some spit up is totally normal.
Sorry so long! I hope the answers your question! Good luck and I hope your DD feels better. It's so hard to see them in pain.
