Baby Dreams

Has your SO had any?
We were having breakfast this morning and my husband says "I had a baby dream. I can't remember what she looked like, but it was a she" ...  I haven't even had a baby dream yet!!  Or not one that I remember, anyway.  So I found it interesting he had one, and that it was a girl.  I don't really hold much stock in dreaming (since the other night I was chased in a grocery store by a green monster that had 20 eyes and I was running down a potato chip aisle).. but still interesting.

Your SO have any? Or you? ("revealing" a sex of baby?)

Re: Baby Dreams

  • With my first pregnancy, DH dreamed it was a little girl, and he took her to work in his lunch cooler... We ended up being team green not by choice (LO wouldn't open his legs so we could see between them), but it was a boy.  I don't remember any specific dreams either of us had with the second one, and so far nothing with this one.

  • I had a very vivid one over the weekend - we were in the ultrasound room, and the tech asked if we wanted to know the sex. We said yes and BOOM clear as day - girl parts on the screen. The dream felt so real. My husband as thought girl all along, but I've been holding steady with boy. We find out in two weeks.

  • SO hasn't had any that he has shared, but I had a very realistic dream that we had a baby boy. Of course 2 nights later I had a dream we had b/g twins (which is obviously not true) so who knows. We are team green so it will still be awhile before we know for sure.

  • I haven't had any this time yet, but when I was pregnant with my daughter I had one, I had a miscarriage 2 months before getting pregnant with her, and in the dream I had an older son (who was very precocious, like, he was sitting in a high chair and speaking full on sentences so matter of fact and seemed to have this weird understanding of life), and I was holding an infant girl. At first it made me think I might have a boy, and then a girl, but the unusual nature of the boy in my dream was more like, this is the baby that God took back because he wasn't ready to give him to this world, and the infant was my daughter. I know that's really creepy/weird/strange and stuff, but it was so vivid and the feelings afterward were very final.

When I was pregnant with my son, before we found out he was a he, I had a very vivid dream of nursing a beautiful blue-eyed boy, and he was looking up at me with that "this is the perfect moment" look that babies give you when they are completely content, and I KNEW he was going to be a boy. Incidentally, he does have beautiful blue eyes :)

  • It would really be a cool story to have had a (correct) prediction dream.  Both DH and I had dreams that DD was a boy.  We were wrong.  haha.

    None so far this time.

  • I've read one on of those old wives tales things that you usually have the opposite of what you dream. I don't put much worth to it because they're just old wives takes but you never know. Haha

I haven't had any dreams where I know/find out the sex but I did have a creepy dream the other night that I was with family and had had the baby. But when I looked at it, it looked like a puppy. Haha it was creepy but then I thought about it and was thinking it could be because I've had a lot of heartburn and people have been telling me that means the baby will have a lot of hair. Or if you look it up it says it could be because pets need a lot of work and so do babies so it's normal to have a dream like that.....

Idc what anyone says it's still creepy!

I had crazy heartburn with DD, and she came out with a full head of hair, but I had WORSE heartburn with DS, and he is a baldy. LoL.

  • The heartburn = hair can be true.  The hormone that is responsible for loosening sphincters (which can aid in causing horrible heartburn) also is the one that causes hair growth.  However, it still doesn't always mean that hormone is hard at work making hair instead of making a pregnant mom miserable or that the hair will even be dark enough to see.

  • I had a ton with my first, I kept having the same one where the baby was a girl but had my husbands face! It was terrifying and then she came out and was his TWIN! hahah Thank goodness she looks more like me but it was kind of freaky how much they looked alike!
  • A week before my first missed period, I dreamt I had given birth to a toddler girl with only stubs for arms. My husband dreamt (at 8 weeks) that we had a boy, whom later on in the dream left on a bus for college baseball.
  • I just knew I was having a girl but my DH constantly tells me its a boy..."I only make boys" lol! Anywho had a dream last week I walked and picked up a lil boy that was just walking down the street and put him in a stroller and walked on like nothing with my DH.  A part of me was like woah wait...is it yours...lol.

BUT I DON'T KNOW...I mean I assumed it was a boy cause it had dark hair and eyes but if you put me at that age in non-gender specific clothes you would of thought I was a boy too.

This is off-topic of the dreams (as I don't have any cool stories about this) but I love your comment about your daughter being your husband's twin when she came out. That is how I felt about my son when he was born. I seriously thought about just handing him to my husband and saying, here is a mini-me I made for you. It was a weird feeling because I felt like I was looking at my husband as an infant, they looked so alike.

Over time, DS has gained more features from my side of the family, and now I think he is the perfect little mix. It was just funny at first.
