July 2014 Moms

Alexander Joseph is here! (TurtleMonsters)

We went to L&D for the planned RCS, it was unfortunately bumped from 8 to indefinite, due to a twins mom right before me. They hooked everything up- a little annoying as everything was more painful (IV, cath, carpal tunnel, Bh's) , cath being really unbearable unfortunately, and thought IV in the CT hand was smrt- now I can't wear my brace! With the spinal, my BP dropped and I almost tossed cookies a few times, but they quickly delivered meds to help along the way.ONce it took effect, all the morning's pains melted.  Alexander Joseph made his way into the workd in the late morning (I lost track of time, and haven't asked). He is 8lbs 6 oz (exactly the same as ds1 was born at, two weeks older then ds2)- so thankful for the rcs, he surely wouldn't have fit if he came on his on accord.

I had a tubal, watched DH meet him across the room and they cleaned up Alex, gave him to DH and they stood by my side the rest of the time which was the closest I'd get to holding him right away, but CT made my right hand so numb it was good DH had him. Once I could, I got a hold of the little squish and been in love ever since:) He was pretty chill and we slept on and off the rest of the day. My mom brought DS1 out and we visited for a while. Dh left in the early evening with DS1, and I had some nice quality time with Alex.

Recovery is kind of sucky,  I have needed lots of anti voimt meds, but finally got broth down around midnight. Alex spent a few hours in the nursery, I got a solid 4 hrs of sleep and that is where we are now!

He's a bit gaggy, from the logistics of a CS, but otherwise doing fine! I'm enjoying time away from the normal schedule and bonding with LO. GL to the rest of you who still have yet to meet LO's and Congrats to those who have them out!
