EP'ers- How are you storing BM?

I'm pretty much EP'ing now but am curious how any other mamas are storing your pumped BM in the fridge. I've got labeled bags and storage bottles that we use to pour into the bottle to warm & give LO instead of having multiple bottles sitting in the fridge. But now I'm wondering if I'm just making it too complicated.

Any other tricks or ideas?

I'm making just enough to keep up with DS's feedings. Therefore, what I pump goes in the fridge.

  • When I ep'd for C, I put everything into labeled lanisoh storage bags. In the evenings I would lay them flat in the freezer and then once frozen would store them up right in a container, okdesr at the front, today's going at the back. Then I would always pull from the front (oldest milk) for the next day at daycare. This meant I was building a stash without really thinking about it because I always pumped an extra bottles worth. Each bag was enough ounces for a bottle.

Same here. My supply is still slowly trickling in but we are nowhere near having enough to freeze or store for more than a day yet.

I store in glass bottles in the freezer, as there is some pretty strong research that suggests a lot of the milk fats cling to plastic when frozen and don't come off again.

@kaysa2‌ What are you using? I'm also planning on storing in glass. I just bought a set of Evenflo bottles to get me started..was considering small mason jars.
