Short version - Lila Grace entered the world at 12:21 am on July 3, 2014 measuring 9 lbs 13 oz and 23 in long.

Very long version - went in to the hospital on Wednesday the 2nd for a scheduled induction at 41 weeks and 2 days. Started out at 3.5 cm with minimal contractions. They ordered an ultrasound to make sure she wasn't measuring big enough to discuss possibility of c/s. (Estimated 8lbs at 36 weeks) We were just barely cleared at the ultrasound. Got started on pitocin to speed up contractions. They turned it up twice and broke my water. The flood gates were opened! We had to change the bedding and literally mop the floor after one of the gushes! Shortly after they broke my water, my contractions intensened and I asked for the epidural. When they checked me after the epi, I was only 4cm. Very frustrating but at least I wasn't in any pain. I labored for a few more hours before they checked me again and I had only progressed to 5cm when they realized the previous nurse had turned down the pitocin when I had my epidural. Seriously? They upped it again and put in a pressure catheter to measure the intensity of my contractions. Even though they were consistently 2-3 min apart, they weren't where they needed to be. A few hours later, I started to feel some crazy pressure so they checked me and I was at 8 cm! Finally some good progress except her head wasn't coming down at the rate it should've been for my cervix to be at an 8. Dr said we would give it another hour or two and see what happens. The nurse leaves and not even 10 minutes later I start feeling the worst pressure ever and like I need to push. We called the nurse in who checks me and says I'm at a 9 and she can't feel my cervix anymore which meant her head was coming down! We start pushing and kept pushing for about an hour before the dr came back to check me. When she does, she says the cervix is swelling and her head is still not coming down. She decided to have me stop pushing and turn on my side to try to get her to come down on her own. This was the worst part of the entire experience! It must've sounded like I was being brutally tortured to anyone who heard me. Let's just say I said things that even my husband had never heard me say! Yikes! After an hour of the worst pain of my life, the dr checks me again and says it's not working and we need to get the baby out. So in we went for a c section. At 12:21 I finally heard the most wonderful noise in the world when my sweet girl entered into our lives. Long day made completely better and totally worth it by that perfect sound.

Thanks for reading my story! Apparently the mobile app has bumped me to the july14 mamas board. Sorry we didn't get to know each other and I didn't post very much (mostly lurked...sorry!)
