Hey ladies,
So, I've been having some very light spotting since Friday (yay holiday weekends!), mostly brown, so I was not worrying too much. Then yesterday afternoon, I started getting lower back pain that reminds me a lot of period pain. So, I called and talked to a nurse this morning. She said it could be perfectly normal or the start of a miscarriage, there's really nothing to do but wait and see if it gets worse. UGH.
Then, she called back and asked if I wanted to come in today for an u/s - my first appt. is scheduled for this Friday - and I said yes! But, here's the big question: I'm thinking I might not be as far along as we think... I may have ovulated late? When I took my first pregnancy test at 4 weeks (should have been first day of period) I got a BFN - didn't get the BFP until 5 weeks. So, if I'm a week behind, will we be able to see anything today?
Any thoughts/ advice would be welcome! I know I'm not thinking clearly right now...

Re: Help - need some advice this morning
If it's 6+ weeks, there's a chance of seeing the heartbeat. Otherwise, you might see the yolk sac/fetal pole.
I'd probably do it for the peace of mind and ask for a f/u scan if you don't see the hb today.
Good luck!

@2redtulips, I'm 6w 2 days today, but I think I'm a week or so behind that. Sounds like we should see something today, and I'll definitely ask about a follow up.

This time I'm not leaving without you.
I'm REALLY just hoping that my dates are off - I tend to have a longer cycle. But, talking with the doctor, he was way more focused on the u/s and bloodwork results than he was about the symptoms that actually made me go in early. I almost felt like he didn't believe that I'm actually pregnant. (No, he's not my regular OB, just who was available when my doc got called to the hospital - just my luck! He's not my first choice.)
So, I guess at this point I'm firmly in limbo-land. Hate it. On the positive side, I now only have to panic until Wed., not Friday?

Also, I don't want to alarm you bc ectopic pregnancies are quite rare, but if you do happen to have severe pain, especially if it is on one side, head to the ER to get it checked out. Of course, once you get your follow up next wk and see a little sac in the right place you can totally forget this advice.
Hugs!!!
