Carseat support (STM+)

Would you recommend getting a head support for the carseat?  We have the Britax B-Safe seat.  I was looking at something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Summer-Infant-77510-Snuzzler-Ivory/dp/B0045VA3SO/ref=sr_1_1?s=baby-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1404792179&sr=1-1&keywords=snuzzler

Nope. You're not supposed to add anything to a car seat that isn't provided by the manufacturer since it hasn't been crash tested. ETA - our seat (chicco) came with an infant head support that was plenty sufficient. If Britax doesn't sell one then I bet they're not really needed, but you can roll up a receiving blanket on either side of your baby. Just don't put anything between baby and the seat.
That's what I thought but was surprised to see so many people have purchased this or similar items.  Thanks!

No problem. Just bc they sell it unfortunately doesn't make it safe. In fact some of those things are even labeled not for use in a moving vehicle...not sure when you're supposed to properly use them then? Better to avoid.
  • I purchased one specifically for my stroller, but actually changed which car seat I wanted because the original didn't come standard with a head support.

  • I had a britax chaperone with my first (will use again with this baby) and my sister had a b-safe with my niece and neither baby ever had a problem with needing head support in the car seat. I also second the comment that you don't add any after market products including pads under the seat, and especially anything that comes between baby and the straps.
  • Britax makes the same thing it's just twice the price. DD hated being in her car seat until we got it.
  • Do not add anything to your car seat.
