HSG during medicated cycle?

I had an ectopic pregnancy in June. I had surgery and my doctor was able to save my tube. He wants to do another HSG test (I had one in April) to see how well the tube healed and make sure it's open. Can this be done during a medicated cycle as long as it's done before trigger/ovulation? I really do not want to sit out another cycle just for the HSG test, if we do not have to, so I am hoping that as soon as I get my period I can start follistim again and have the HSG done right away. (I'll ask my doc too, just trying to see what the norm is for this). Thanks!!

    I had my hsg the same cycle I took Clomid. This cycle resulted in pg. I don't think you'll have to sit out, but as always that's up to your dr.

    My hsg was done during a mandatory TTA cycle but my sister in law got pg the cycle she had her hsg. I was instructed by the re to come in the last day or day after my period ended. My re says that numerous women get pg the cycle they had their hsg, it has something to do with the dye clearing out the tubes.

    I'm having a shg today. My understanding is an hsg is with dye and a shg is with saline. I was told to wait one more cycle after the shg. But like everyone else said, I think it depends on what your doctor says is best for your particular situation. I hope you get to come off the bench soon.

    I just did mine in a medicated cycle (Clomid, no trigger) and was told that assuming the HSG was fine that it wouldn't be an issue. My hospital likes to do them sometime between when you stop heavy bleeding from your period through CD11 or on a TTA cycle. Basically working it so that you can do the medicated cycle and the HSG so you don't have to wait extra cycles.

    That being said, I had enough discovered on my HSG that this medicated cycle ended up being a wash because now I'm TTA until they can get a better look through hysteroscopy. Since Clomid is covered under my insurance for TI, I didn't have a problem letting the cycle go, but if I were using more expensive drugs I might wait for the all clear to start them.

    Hysteroscopy/Lap--8/4/14 - Tubes unblocked. Polyps removed from uterine wall. Septum removed.
     9/30/14--Off the bench! Unmedicated TI through December 2014
    BFP 12/14/14!!! Beta #1, 12/16: 990 Beta #2, 12/18: Over 2000! Beta #3, 12/22: over 8000!
     U/S #1, 12/23: gestational sac, possible heartbeat
    U/S #2, 12/30: HEARTBEAT! 128bpm, measuring right on at 7w EDD: 8/19/2015
    U/S #3, 1/9: BPM in the 180s, IT'S HAPPENING!!!

    Thanks ladies! Per my doctor, I can't start meds until after the HSG, so I am benched at least another two months. I was really hoping to do them in the same month but cancel the cycle if the HSG revealed something that needed to be addressed.

    My HCG at 4 weeks post D&C is 185... so I guess waiting is just my thing :(
