We bought DD a potty about a month ago. For two weeks, she would use it first thing in the morning, after her nap, and she would poop in it. For some reason, she now wants nothing to do with it. If I try to sit her on it, she just fusses, tells me "no," and gets up. She's 22 months and I know some people consider that early. I guess I'm just wanting advice. Do I just continue to take her to the potty during the day or do we take a break? She's getting upset when I try, so that's why I'm wondering if a break is best.
Thanks.
Re: Potty Problems
When my DD was 13 months old she had a lot of signs & in fact would stay dry for 2 hours until I took her. I kept her in a diaper because my older kids were PT at 15 & 17 months old & I just didn't think at her age she could do it. After 3 weeks of that she just got upset & didn't want to use the potty but would get upset when her diaper was dirty. I took a break from the potty for a week then at 14 months old did naked time so she could learn to tell me when she had to go. THAT was the key. It was easy & simple & she was fully PT for daytime, naps & bedtime. That was over 5 months ago and we've never had any more problems.
