back up your photos, mamas (in more than one place!)

So tonight my well-intentioned DH accidentally deleted the folder where we had moved all of my digital photos before April 2014 (20,000+ photos). College, wedding, travel, baby--all gone. Tomorrow I start the task of trying to get copies of photos shared with friends and posted various places online. Of course, I keep telling myself that these are only sentimental, and it's not a true catastrophe--we are all healthy, etc.--but it makes my heart hurt to think about everything that's gone :(

    I'm sorry that happened to you! I was strangely thinking of this last night how I really need to buy a back-up system. I am the type that still prints pictures and fills albums but I still have hundreds and hundreds on my computer that I don't want to lose.

    Oh no!! I have been thinking for a while now I need to get the pictures off of my phone and get our laptop backed up to our external hard drive and probably a flash drive too.

    I am so sorry!!! Hope you can recover some from other people at least. We started burning all photos, in sets, to 3 discs each. One copy goes in our safe, one in my in-laws' safe, and one in my parents' safe. Just in case.

    Oh my goodness!  That would make me ugly cry!  I've got my computer set up to back up once a week.  All pictures and documents get backed up onto an external hard drive and onto OneDrive (Microsoft Cloud service).  I'm always terrified of my computer getting stolen or destroyed and losing all that info and memories.

    So sorry that this happened! You might be able to store the computer to a previous date and get the files back. And did he delete it from the recycle bin too? Computers don't typically delete with just one click. Good luck mama!
