Trouble TTC

WTF body - vent (kind of related)

This may be more for me than you, but thanks for reading anyway. ;) I'm not much of a Facebook/social media venter, so this will have to do. I just need to see it in writing so I can whine to myself for a minute and get over it.

A combo of being exposed to more kid germs than usual the past few weeks, working in a hospital, steroids and antibiotics for the HSG, the HSG itself, and my sucky immune system = today's trip to urgent care where I was diagnosed with the following:

- bladder infection/UTI (thanks, HSG, sonogram, internal exam, etc. etc.)

- yeast infection (thanks antibiotics for the above)

- strep throat (who knows)

- sinus and ear infection (eff you, allergies)

It's been a great day. I count my blessings that none of the above issues are long-term ailments, but I also counted my medications and there are twelve pills in my daily pill counter for the next two weeks. Every day. I mean, no baby should even want to be inside me right now. What a frustrating Monday. Hope you ladies had a better one and even better week. Thanks for listening.

    Me:26 DH:27
    Married Oct 2011
NTNP for about a year before actively
    TTC since April 2013
Currently testing for infertility cause and hormone imbalance.
Infertility & ovarian cyst diagnosis: May '14
B/W: 'good', more ordered to check antibodies & progesterone
    SA: Normal :)
U/Ss for cyst: who the f knows
DH's cat scan: showed encapsulated fatty growth; u/s: didn't really show much more
Breast Specialist: Most likely a large fibroid, but keeping an eye on it, repeat u/s every 6mos
HSG: clear tubes, uterus is A-ok
WHAT'S NEXT: DH's consult with surgeon to discuss next step for growth, either biopsy or surgery~Big discussion with Dr. before any possibility of starting Clomid, since I'll want another u/s before and to be monitored and he doesn't seem into that. I had to force his hand just to order the AMH test so may be looking for another OB
    ~All welcome :) ~

Hahaha. Isn't it always? ;) Thank you!
  • Is wine an option? Feel better!
P.S. I see you had your IVF consult scheduled for today. Did it happen? Update? Did you already and I just missed it? ha.
  • Feel better soon

Official diagnosis: Unexplained IF. I am 32. I have low ovarian reserve (low AMH), and poor egg quality. I've also been diagnosed with mild glandular developmental arrest (lining problems, detected with EFT).

We are using open ID donor sperm. IUIs #1-7=BFN. IVF September 2014 antagonist protocol, 8R,5M,3F, 5 day transfer of 1 morula = BFN. IVF#2 planned for January 2015 (antagonist protocol + HGH).

  • Yikes! Hopefully you can find a good TV marathon, eat some healthy food and and heal all of this.

My naturopath recommends a little dose of real cranberry juice (not concentrate). I mix mine with bubble water and apparently it helps all of those unwelcome critters from sticking around your urinary tract, bladder and elsewhere.

    Feel better!
Tried for two years, finally a BFP!
  • That really sucks--is that common for the HSG to cause the UTI?  I'm worried because I've been prone to getting them, though it has been almost a year.

I agree with ButtMonkey---drink all the wine!  I hope you are over this mess really soon.
  • I'm so sorry, that really sucks! I hope you feel better soon.

I hate to be the maw maw in the group but this is one of very few instances that wine is NOT an option. You have a UTI and are on antibiotics and you really shouldn't drink fermented grapes at this time. Now NyQuil is a good alternative to knock your ass out and wash it down with plenty of fluids.
    Fucking bump!!!!
  • I'm so sorry! Wow, I'm just glad they successfully diagnosed all of that instead of leaving you with one of those issues hanging on.

I don't know how common it is, but a lot of doctors do prescribe antibiotics ahead of time and a few days after to try and avoid it. The dose wasn't strong enough for me, apparently, but I am also prone to infections.

Yes, yes. You're unfortunately right. ;)
