Sucking it in???

So last night in my struggle to fall asleep, I was researching things for my hospital bag.

Does anyone have experience with these? Do people wear them for natural births as well as c-sections?

I have zero experience with that torture-looking device, but it looks to me like wearing it is asking for an incision infection. I would think it would rub against the incision and irritate it (even if it's bandaged) and reduce airflow, allowing a moist, bacteria-friendly environment.

Just, eww.

I used the binder that my hospital provided for the first few days after my CS. It pretty much helped me feel like I wouldn't fall apart and made me feel better getting up and down. The one I was given is similar to the link @lissydee posted.

Its not like the one you posted, that you have to step into and hook and close--honestly, that would be very cumbersome to get into after having a section when you already have limited mobility. I've never heard of hospitals giving these out. I didn't get one after my c/s.

I can't imagine having worn that thing after my c-section. It looks quite painful actually! The binder that @lissydee posted is more like it, though my hospital didn't offer them. There are belly binders that you can buy and use PP for either type of delivery though.
