This is my fifth pregnancy. I have 3 living children, this is the first time I have had a fibroid during pregnancy. Anyone have any experience with fibroids and pregnancy?
Me! Anything you want to know? My fibroids unfortunately are the cause of my first three m/c, we believe. But in all of those cases it happened very early (between 3-5 weeks) and I was bleeding from the get-go since the fibroid affected implantation. My son was born with the fibroids still in my uterus and did fine (Dr. says it's because of where he implanted). They are gone completely now so I shouldn't have to worry about them this pregnancy, but other than being worried about an early m/c I didn't even notice them last pregnancy. I had a vaginal, med-free delivery with no complications.

I currently have one. I bled at the time I expected my period so we aren't sure it was implantation bleeding (which I've never had before) or the fibroid. It is 2cm. My doctor seemed concerned but from my research they are quite common. She put me on pelvic rest which to be honest is driving my husband and I crazy. I too had a med-free vaginal birth with my daughter 2 years ago but didn't have any fibroids at the time. I am unsure about tis go round. Were you on pelvic rest?
My sister had a fibroid and had a episode if very bad pain and ended up in the ER. Luckily it resolved itself and she had a problem free labor and delivery. Her daughter was born with tortcollis (I think that's what it is called) they think from being pushed up against the fibroid in the womb. She receives PT to strengthen her muscles but is doing fine and should be done that soon.
In my case I had multiple (4) fibroids. 2 were removed surgically before I got pregnant but the other two required a more extensive operation so I was putting it off. So the m/c were caused by the egg trying to implant too close to a fibroid and it preventing implantation.
I was never put on pelvic rest. But the fibroids weren't anywhere near my cervix (the two I had removed were). A lot of people experience bleeding due to fibroids but I didn't have that, either. And some people experience issues with labor and delivery, but again I didn't have that. Your doctor will be able to clarify your situation better as a lot of this is based off WHERE they are. If they are suggesting a care you don't agree with you can always go get a second opinion from a doctor with perhaps more experience with this.

Absolutely, I am getting a second opinion Thursday and will hopefully be able to have my home birth. But my midwife is considering me high risk so I won't be able to see her till the second trimester. Trying to stay positive through all this.
I'd try to get an ultrasound ASAP. The location plays a lot. If it's nowhere near the placenta you won't have much to worry about. If they are near each other you may find yourself having more issues as the baby grows. Good luck!!!

I have US #2 (#1 was years ago when I first had pain from the fibroids). Doctor thinks the fibroids have expanded and are now pushing up against an ovary which is causing the pain I am feeling and may be causing the issues we have been having TTC. The pain is more of an issue for me because it is making me nauseous and I am having bouts of dizzyness. Hoping an answer comes out of this!
DH and I: 37; TTC since 12/2007 Me: 8-9 Follicles seen on Initial RE Visit, Letrozole/Norithendrone to manage endometriosis; Baseline CD3 (8/1/14), 7 Follicles seen, AMH low/FSH high, OvaVite to improve Egg Quality; Hysteroscopy showed polyp, Surgery set for 8/22; FemVu showed both tubes clear!; Thyroid Hormone high, Synthorid to normalize
DH: Both SA - no living swimmers, Attempting to set up appt with urologist

I had one that I didn't know about until I got pregnant with my son. I had a miscarriage Pryor to that. The dr didn't say if it was the cause or not. My dr with my son considered me high risk and watched me carefully. We did several US which I didn't mind getting to see lo more often. The biggest thing she was concerned about is they can cause preterm labor. I didn't have any problems as I was induced at 39 weeks. Not sure how or if it will affect this pregnancy. I have my first dr visit tomorrow at 5w4d.

We lost a baby girl in September of 2014 but it was unrelated to the fibroid.
