Helmet Question

Our local kohls stores teamed with the local children's hospital to give out free helmets to kids ages 1-20.  They have fittings on certain dates throughout the summer- the next one is this Wednesday.  DD will be 2 this October and right now doesn't need a helmet, but maybe she'll need one next summer? I don't know what age kids start needing them and I don't know that they'll have this free program next year.   If I have her fitted now,  will it still fit by then? The kohls isn't the closest, so I'm trying to figure out if it'll be worth it to go.

    No, she's not on anything with wheels yet, but I'm thinking maybe next year? Do they go on thing with wheels at 2?  And if I get a helmet now, will it fit her then?
