What's your proudest BF mom story?

I've been determined to make BF'ing work this time around and it seems that it's the only thing i could think about for months now. I wasn't sure how my husband and son would take it so for me, my proudest moment was when my first child was playing with his stuffed animal and pretended to feed them. I gave him a little empty bottle and he began to feed one. Then he said the baby finished the whole bottle and needed more "pumped milk". Playing along, i told him i didn't have anymore so he asked me to nurse his baby for him and said i needed to pump more! I'm so happy at his reaction to nursing! I was worried he'd think it was weird. Plus he was FF since nursing didn't work out for me the first time.

My other one is more recent... Since I never thought I'd NIP (more specifically - not hiding to nurse while in public), I was really proud when I found myself nursing on a tractor ride the other day with strangers all around me (inches away from me) and wasn't even remotely uncomfortable! Never thought i'd get to that point.

Re: What's your proudest BF mom story?

  • One of my proudest moments happened this past week and it's similar to yours.

DD and my nephew were playing house.  DD was the mommy, nephew was the daddy and they had a doll that was their baby.  They took the baby for walks in the stroller, made a bed for the baby to sleep in, brought the baby to the doctor for a check-up, etc.  When it would come time for the baby to eat, DD would lift her shirt up and nurse the baby.  Neither DD nor my nephew thought to look for a bottle, but fed their baby in the same way they see their mothers feeding their little brothers.
