Toddler and expecting #2 end of month

Help! I have a 14 month old (whom will be 15) and will be giving birth to our second the end of this month. I'm now in panic mode and looking for advice or experiences on making things easier (surviving) for all of us. Would love to know how other Mamas did it

DS1 was 2.5 years when DS2 was born, so a little older, but you can start some changes now. I had DS1 get used to climbing up next to me on the couch and meet me half way on everything so I didn't have to pick him up. I also got him used to walking to bed instead of me carrying him.

  • DS1 is 2.5 years old. Since bringing home DS2, we have tried to include DS1 into everything we do with the baby.  We've shown DS1 how to gently put the pacifier into brother's mouth. He's made it his "job" to make sure brother has his paci. This week is just survival mode, trying to figure out DS2's schedule and how DS1 wll react.  It's going better than we expected.

  • Following this thread for hints on what to do once DS2 is an outside baby.

I stopped carrying DS1 up and down stairs and lifting him months ago when my hips started hurting, so at least he is used to that.  But he is the center of everyone's attention and I'm afraid that his world is going to be severely rocked when DS2 comes home.
