Trouble TTC

Introduction

Hi, everyone. I did an introduction on TTGP a few days ago, but after lurking 3T, I think I unfortunately belong here as well. I am 20 years old, my DH is 22. I just graduated college in May, and will begin Grad School in August. My husband and I have been trying since May 2013. No appointments have been scheduled as of yet, since we just hit our one year mark, but I plan on having blood work done within the next few months to check my general health. After that, we will continue to do whatever we need to do. I am currently in the process of attempting to lose 100 pounds. Even though I know most issues are not related to weight, in my mind I place blame on my unhealthy lifestyle. I hope that I am welcomed here, as much as I hate the idea of being here. If so, thanks for having me!

Me: 20 | DH: 22

Married May 2013: TTC since May 2013

Currently making lifestyle changes in an effort to lose 100 pounds.

Re: Introduction

  • I have recently begun temping. I do ovulate, but I have a possible Lutual Phase Defect. I have 26 day cycles, and ovulate around day 17-18. (I have had a hard time finding information about LPD, because everything site that I find says something different and gives a different normal range.)

  • Welcome. Sorry you have to be here! Dr. Google can be a curse. :) We felt a lot better after having an RE look at our case and give us guidance and answers. I hope testing helps you and YH feel better about it too.

  • Welcome! Congrats on your graduation. Best of luck this cycle!
  • Welcome. Sorry you're stuck here, but at least the ladies are very supportive and helpful!

Like @iPutKetchupOnKetchup said, if you feel like you're ready, I'd definitely visit an RE to at least begin testing, identifying any issues issue(s) or at least rule some out. Many of us here have "unexplained" infertility, myself included, but if you can help pinpoint the problem sooner than later, all the better!

    Good luck!

Tried for two years, finally a BFP!
  • Everyone has given good advise. Welcome and good luck.
    Fucking bump!!!!
  • Welcome!  Sorry that you're here, but you will get through this.

I'd just echo what everyone else has said: go see an RE.  DH and I spent 2 years trying to conceive naturally before I finally decided to get help.  Went to see an OBGYN who "specialized in fertility issues".  Wasted another two years letting her try to figure it out before she recommended I go see an RE.  The RE had me prepping for IUI within weeks.

I'm currently in the 2ww after my first iui, but it was so fast and easy (and way less expensive than I expected it to be) that I really regret wasting so much time.
