IUD question.

Ok so I'm the biggest baby when it comes to pain. Although I did have a cs and didn't take anything but ibprophen.

Anyways. I am wanting/ needing to get the iud but I'm so scared it's going to hurt. What is your experience with getting it put in? How long does it take?

    Took maybe 3 mins. There was some intense cramping which she said was going to happen, but I was holding in a fart. Overall it wasn't bad, I had some light bleeding for a day.

    I had one before I had a baby, holy cow it was painful!!!

    I think as long as your cervix has dilated, even a cm it should be fine. I'm going to take Motrin before and hope for the best.

    I had one after DS in 2011 and it didn't hurt at all to get put in. I got another a week ago and it hurt quite a bit even though I took 800 mg of ibuprofen beforehand. No idea why it was different this time. But 2 minutes of discomfort for 5 years of protection and lighter periods is totally worth it. I'd do it again without hesitation.
