This is kind of embarrassing for me to admit but I have lost my job due to being in bed rest and I have no family here to help me out. I am due in October and only have about three outfits for my precious baby boy. I have created my baby registry with Burlington coat factory(baby depot) and almost nothing goes over $10. If anyone could please help me out I would really appreciate it. First name is XXX last name XXX and state is XXX . Thank you

I am sorry you are having a hard time...but no. This is completely not ok. You can't come in and ask a bunch of internet strangers to buy you gifts. I smell a scam...
It's unbelievable how there's people out there who won't help ANYONE but when they need help they wonder why no one wants to help them. Think what you want.

This is like asking strangers at Babies R Us to buy things for you off your registry. This is a community, not a drive by hand out station.
On that note, if it's sympathy, support, or camaraderie you need, we are your girls!
If you really need help, you should try going to a church in your community. Most churches are willing to help someone in your situation out, even if you are not a member. If you lost your job and have no income, you will qualify for government benefits.
You can not expect random people to buy you gifts when they have no idea who you are or if you are even being honest.
You can also call 211 from any phone. Its the United Way help hotline, and they can connect you to food, shelter, job assistance, clothing, etc. They are nationwide.
Well, if you disconnect your internet, that will save you at least $50 a month. I'm sure you can cut back in other ways too. It's all about priorities!
Plus, why should we buy you brand new things when a lot of us are using hand me downs? Kinda selfish, don't you think? I'm sure there are organizations to help you obtain donated items

Yeah, this is really going to get us to want to help you. Asking strangers to buy you things from your registries and then guilting them. You have no idea what kind of people we are. For instance, I donate food, clothing, money, and my time to homeless family shelters. There are other ways to get assistance. This is not it.
If you are in a bad position, I'm very sorry. We can offer support and camaraderie, but this is inappropriate. As others have said, there are local resources where you can get the supplies you need.
A DD followed by an emoticon? Wow, you told us! How dare we shame someone for asking a board of strangers for money? We should be ashamed, OP. You're completely right. But maybe you'll get a better response if you hang out in BRU and ask passers by to buy items on your registry? Just an option.

Wow...I feel better about the ethics of the beggers that asked me to my face for money yesterday.
Seriously, there are so many ways to take care of the needs of your lo without asking the internets...
