Pronouncing "Lael"

For a middle name, I like the name (well basically the meaning) of the name "Lael".  However, I'm seeing different ways to pronounce it.  I've seen it pronounced Lay Elle and also like Lail (like Gail but with an L sound).  I've googled pronouncing it and again I see it both ways and I've looked on YouTube and again found it both ways.  I guess I'm curious how would you think its pronounced?

Okay I'm going to admit, I'm really dumb when it comes to pronouncing.  So if your pronouncing it Lah-el then it would be like the name Gail but with an L?  Is that's correct?
  • I've met two women with this name who both pronounced it like Gail. I adore the name pronounced that way.

Gail is a single syllable name.  Lael is two syllable.  So it would rhyme with "ma belle"

Thank you ladies!!  It is for a girl- I know in the Bible its a man's name but I actually found it in the girls section of a name book but regardless as a middle name it doesn't bother me.  I really just fell in love with the name meaning.  Luckily I just found a You Tube clip of Lael Brainard (female) undersecretary for international affairs at the U.S. and that's helping me with pronouncing and you ladies have been a great help!  Thanks again!

Lah-el would be my assumption, following the pattern of other Hebrew names like Yael.
    Ditto.

I take it you're not Jewish or of any kind of Hebrew descent, then? Using a male name on a girl is a big faux pas.

Not that it likely matters; seems you've made up your mind. Yes, it's a mn. But if I heard it on your daughter, I would probably be borderline offended and definitely side-eye it. Likely won't happen often, but be prepared that it could.
That doesn't bother me at all and I have no concern over it.  If someone is offend that's their issue not ours.  She isn't being named that to be malicious.
