Anxiety dreams...

Am I the only one getting anxiety dreams about going into labor? For the past 4 nights I've had dreams that I contacted my labor buddy (hi
@email2ash‌ ) that my water broke.
Then the next I was actually at the hospital about to deliver. One time we were on our way to the hospital.

Also, I've been sweating like crazy at night. I don't know what my problem is or why I'm so worried. I just gave birth 11 months ago almost exactly, but my mind is still going bonkers. I guess this was like a dear diary post but...has anyone else had these labor dreams?

I'm a first-timer but I've had the "oh my gosh, it's time!" Dreams two nights in a row. I always wake up in a sweat/ panic until I stand up and realize my water has not in fact broken.

It's a bit freaky! Lol! It feels so real, right?!

  • So glad i'm not alone lol! Last night i had a dream LO was born and wasn't breastfeeding well enough and a few nights ago i woke up to pee and before the dreaded getting out of bed/still half asleep mode i totally thought my water broke because it did in my dream. Then i just laughed at myself when i was walking to the bathroom, these dreams are crazy!

I am a sweating, drooling mess every night. I had a dream a couple nights ago that I delivered hella other bumpies' babies. Like, I'd deliver a baby, wake up to go pee, go back to sleep and deliver another couple babies. I think it's my fear of being the last person pregnant ever in the history of the world.

Lol!! I'm sorry yours made me laugh. I've been also drooling like crazy. And the delivering babies, those are crazy too.
I feel like I'll be the last in the bunch too. I'm due July 31st. What's your EDD?

  • Yes. I'm waking even more than to pee or flip sides because of these dreams. I keep dreaming of contractions or my water breaking in bed and not making it to the hospital. I can't ever actually relax and have been dreading bed time each night for the past week! I think my best sleep has come from hour naps in the middle of the day LOL. I'm ready for baby to stay put or come out. This not knowing when business is tough stuff! :-??
  • I have these same dreams. I dream of this LO coming in several different places that aren't the hospital or worst case scenarios. I know it's rediculous but I think I am just anxious too! Don't worry @missquela‌ your baby will come, I'll be the last person to deliver because I am so miserable and ready!!

I've been having nightmares about developing pre e, but not realizing it and causing serious harm to me and my baby. (I have PIH, and have been having nasty headaches for a few weeks. BP remains borderline.)

My DH had a dream that I gave birth to a troll doll. :p

    Edit: English is hard

  • I have the dreams too. A couple nights ago I dreamt I went into labor, had the baby and it was a boy. Named him Michael Joseph. Two names I hate. Even in my dream I was all...I have personal reasons to hate both these names, there is no way I would name my kid this.

But for real the whole labor and delivery part was so real that I was confused as to why I was still pregnant when I woke up.

And I actually woke up at 5 am this morning covered in sweat and shaking from a nightmare. Though not one birth related thankfully.

i don't have labor dreams as a result of the anxiety, but i have nasty nightmares.  this morning's gem was that i was the captain of a boat with hundreds of people on it.  it was sinking because of a nasty accident, and i was trying to get everyoe in their life vests and into the water to swim to shore.  i got all the kids their vests before i ran out, and then realized my own son didn't have one on...then i woke up.  hello psycho!!!

  • CONSTANTLY! I keep having one where my water breaks while I'm sleeping, and I ruin our new mattress. You'd think this would be solved by putting a waterproof liner on... but I haven't gotten around to it yet... :)

I watched too much "birth" tv yesterday. I'm having mild period like cramps off and on and I think most of the night I kept dreaming I was in full on labor and laboring at home for a home-birth ( I watched a home birth documentary in addition to other stuff). I was half asleep the few times I got up to pee and I swear I was really in labor, contraction pain and everything. Woke up completely and realized, nope. My mind is really playing tricks in me. I truly don't know if I was in that much pain overnight or if I dreamed it all...but I swear I felt it!

  • Yes! I'm 39 weeks today and have been having tons of nighttime cramps that make it impossible to sleep due to overanalyzing if they are BH or contractions. During the short time in between when I can actually sleep I'm having crazy birth/BF dreams! Lasts night I dreamt that I had my LO and he kept giving me an attitude telling me that I was doing everything wrong!?! WTF brain, I need my sleep!
  • Oddly enough, I am having no dreams about labor itself.  All of my dreams jump right to having a baby and not being prepared at all.  I'm not sure how to interpret the fact that I never actually go through labor.  In one dream I specifically remember that I said I blacked out the whole labor and it put me at ease a little that I didn't remember it.  This morning I woke up at 4 am and couldn't go back to sleep because I just started thinking of everything I hadn't done yet!  Let the nesting phase begin!!

  • I sweat like a fat man all night long. And then I wake up drenching the sheets and think my water has broken. So I freak out for a few minutes, realize it was a dream, and fall back asleep....only to have it repeat over and over. I think I am getting like, 2 hours of sleep a night at this point (and changing shirts/underwear at least twice).

  • I keep having the same dream and it's usually when I take a nap, that DD delivery will be just like DS and it's freaking me out, BIG TIME. But I also don't know what else to expect as far as deliveries go. So I'm basically basing everything off of his entrance into the world. Le sigh!
Plus, on top of my dog farting in my face at nap and bed time, the extremely cold showers I take before bed that aren't helping, my DH being OOT for work until DD arrives, my thighs wanting to be super restless, and my GDamned neighbors still shooting off fireworks at 1130 every night, I can't get any sleep. I think the insomnia monster is seriously out to get me this time around. Le sigh x10

  • I've had WEIRD nonsensical dreams all pregnancy-- worst in the second tri. But last night in my dream I saw this dungeon-like L&D room with a stone table in the middle with arm and leg restraints and a creepy blazing fire in front of it. Thankfully it didn't get any more graphic than that, but I can tell that I'm subconsciously a bit freaked out about what my labor experience will feel like.  :(

  • I had zero crazy dreams with DD, I was calm and collected the day I went into labor.

This time is much different, guess because I know what is coming and it is scary. I wake up covered in sweat and drool daily. I wake up thinking I am in labor or my water has broken. My scariest one yet was dreaming that I went to the hospital and was in labor for 2-3 days, then realized I left my DD who is 2 at home ALONE in my state of panic.

  • Totally having crazy dreams! Dreams about going into labor, water breaking, not being prepared to go to the hospital- oy! This has put my nesting into overdrive and I'm super nervous I'm going to go into labor soon even though I have 3 more weeks before my EDD.
  • My dreams have picked up lately, too. The other night I had one where I had twin KITTENS and had to nurse them.

I had a dream litter of kittens back in the 2nd tri! I was freaking out about finding a good vet for them.

  • I dreamed Commander Worf delivered my child :P  Go figure, gotta stop watching Star Trek.

  • Last night I got zero sleep and had dreamed about having my labor be like every single birth story I've read on here. I just kept picturing myself either laboring in the car, barely making it to the hospital, DH missing it because he is working and several other ways. I am so ready for this to be over so I can get some real sleep...or naps

  • The other night I felt Baby Girl pretty much do a somersault inside me, which I thought she no longer had room for. Now I'm all freaked out that her head is no longer down & that I'll need a C-section, so that anxiety has been hindering my sleep. Guess I'll find out for sure at my OB appt today.

When I'm really anxiety-ridden & having thoughts (or dreams) running through my head, I moan & mumble to the point that DH has to wake me up so I'll stop. He's a light sleeper anyways so as bad as I feel when this happens, I think of it as conditioning for when we'll have our newborn sleeping in the bassinet at the foot of the bed.

  • Had a dream I gave birth to QUADRUPLETS...3 girls and a boy! And they were White! Lol...Last time I checked, I was a Black lady having one baby! Shit!
  • I haven't had any dreams about labor or baby being out in the world with me.  Most of my dreams are just purely nonsensical.  A lot of them lately I've been getting mad at people who I know IRL (usually poor sweet DH) for completely stupid reasons.  Like one time I dreamed he was talking to my mom, and I really needed to tell him something so I kept yelling his name, and he'd never stop to listen to me.  So unrealistic!

My favorite pregnancy dream so far was in 2nd trimester where I dreamed I was Iron Man.  I don't know where that came from, but I could fly and it was awesome.  More Avengers dreams, please and thank you.

  • Just had my first pregnancy dream last night! I dreamed when I gave birth to him he was so big and looked like my DD2 but with longer hair and he already had 4 teeth and the nurses were cutting his hair after they cleaned him up!
