Stupid question - re:leaving house

Ok so my baby is almost 3 weeks old and we haven't left the house except to go to the pedi. I am going stir crazy and want to run to Target to pick up something to cook and maybe browse the baby section for a second - could send DH but I really want to get out. Ok to bring baby? Or should I leave her at home with DH?

    By all means go! But I would go with DH so you have some help. It'll be good for you and the baby to get out for a bit.

    i always liked to leave ds at home with dh when i did little runs..not because i thought ds was too young but because it's nice to have some time by yourself (and the rest of the target shoppers).

    I'd go. I know that stir crazy feeling. Maybe ask DH to go too. The first trip to a store with the baby can be nerve racking. (where to park, car seat in the cart...) Enjoy!

    We went out at at about that point--I had to get out of the house.  However, we tried to avoid crowds...and Target will prob be busy today since most have the day off.  You can take her, it'll be fine, but if you'd feel more comfortable about the germs, I'd leave her home, you won't be gone long.

    You will find this is a controversial issue, especially during cold and flu season. I definitely took DD out, but tried to be smart about avoiding crowds and I'd leave her in the carrier with the canopy up to shield her from strangers.

    Ok after listenin to the girls hear, I feel guilty, but I went Christmas shopping when ds was 3 days old. I can't stand feeling traped in the house. We go out all the time and all ds has had is a cold but that was caught from his daddy.

    go out! we have been out a lot. go with dh. i put her in baby bjorn so she would be away from germs. my pedi told me go out whenever i want with her. i also have gone out with her a bunch right after i feed her.

    We took him to the grocery store at 3 days old, covered up with a blanket and his canopy up. But I kind of like leaving him if I can because the car seat is such a pain if you need more than a few things.?
