Hello all! My fiancé and I were talking and may change our TTC plans. Originally we were going to wait until the cycle in which we were getting married to start trying, but we think we may want to start a little earlier. We are getting married 9/6/14 so I'd only be two months at the most if I got pregnant right away.
My question is for anyone who has been pregnant before...
Do you think that you would have liked to be pregnant at your wedding? I'm not a drinker, at all. I actually hate the taste of alcohol. So I'm just wondering if, based on your pregnancy experiences, you would have enjoyed your wedding as much if you happened to be pregnant.

We went on the cruise to the Bahamas! You will have so much fun! Seafood is the only reason I'm considering holding off TTC until after our vaca later this summer. I love fresh seafood! Yum
I also drank on my honeymoon. If I was pregnant I couldn't have done some of the things we did like climb a waterfall and swim with dolphins.
Everyone is different. Do what you feel is best for you! Congrats on your upcoming wedding!
FWIW and I'm are it makes no difference to you but we started TTC as soon as we got home from our honeymoon.
All this being said I still would wait to TTC. But that's just me.

I can't wait! I'm so excited to go on my honeymoon!! I really do have to consider everything. I never even thought about the seafood thing.
Or the fact of being bloated. I can't even fit a cheesburger in my dress with me. Haha

We started kind of trying (basically just ditched protection) the cycle right before our wedding (so I would have barely been 4 weeks). I think I would have been okay, the little bit I have been pregnant I was mainly tired with PMS symptoms, which I had anyway because my wedding day was CD1.

There's also a lot of stress both with wedding planning and first trimester. I was a hysterical basket-case in the weeks/days leading up to my wedding just dealing with all the last minute things that inevitably go wrong. The risk of miscarriage is higher then than at later stages, and I know that was constantly on my mind those first few weeks. Putting these two stressful times together seems like it would multiply your stress levels exponentially to the point you wouldn't be able to fully enjoy either.
All of you are right. One step at a time, and one stressor at a time. Hopefully the wedding will be here before I know it. And, according to my past cycles, my fertile week will most likely be when we are on our honeymoon in the Bahamas!

I wasn't really concerned about being pregnant on my wedding day...because we took precautions to avoid that. But, even though i KNEW that it takes the body a few months after coming off of the pill to get on a regular cycle, and i KNEW i wated to TTC almost immediately, i refused to even go off of the pill before my wedding. My period was always painful and unpredictable before the pill, and i was terrified that if i went off the pill before the wedding i'd get my period on either my wedding day or (not as bad, but still lame) my honeymoon. So instead i stayed on the pill, planned it out so i'd have my last "pill period" starting on the Monday before my wedding and ending on Thursday, and then I stopped taking it. I was able to make it so i wouldn't have to deal with my period until i was back at home after the honeymoon.
This was super fortunate, because my first non-pill period was short, but PAINFUL. honestly, for me, i'd be concerned about being pregnant at the wedding (sickness, etc) but JUST as concerned about getting my period at the wedding. You never know what your cycles will be like when you go off the pill. So before you give it up, i'd consider all of your options, and what is most important to you.
I am saying this as a person who had literally 0% stress in the weeks leading up to the wedding because i hired a full-service wedding planner, and basically had to do nothing but go pick up my dress and get my nails done. If that's not your situation, i'd proceed with even more caution that i did.
