Pregnant after a Loss

***Sunday Ticker Change Check-In***

Welcome to the Sunday Ticker Change! I hope those who are in the U.S. are having a great holiday weekend and those that aren't are having a great weekend! If your week turns over on Sunday, we would love to have you join us.

Questions:

What is your due date and how many weeks?  Fruit/veg [if you know]?

Team blue, pink, green (or do you not know yet)?

How are you feeling?

Any upcoming appointments/milestones/pregnancy updates to share?

Thoughts/vents?

QOTW: Do you have a name picked out for your baby or perhaps names that you like that you feel comfortable sharing with us? If you do have a name picked out, why did you select it? Does the name have special meaning to you? Will you be keeping it a secret from friends and family until birth?

Re: ***Sunday Ticker Change Check-In***

  • What is your due date and how many weeks? Fruit/veg [if you know]?

    November 9th - 22 weeks (spaghetti squash)

Team blue, pink, green (or do you not know yet)? Team blue!

    How are you feeling?

I've been feeling good. I had one episode this week where I got sick and that hasn't happened since 15 weeks or so. It was triggered by the heat so I was probably a bit dehydrated. I'm usually so good about making sure to keep my water bottle with me at all times but I was in a place that didn't have AC and it was just plain awful.

Any upcoming appointments/milestones/pregnancy updates to share?

I had a monthly check up this week which went well. I've been feeling more and more movement which is exciting and reassuring. I haven't used my doppler in a few days because of it. I will have the glucose test next appointment which I'm a bit nervous about.

    Thoughts/vents?

Just enjoying the movements and really trying to embrace each week. At first I felt like I was trying to rush the pregnancy but having worked so hard to get here finally I am trying to be better about cherishing these moments.

QOTW: Do you have a name picked out for your baby or perhaps names that you like that you feel comfortable sharing with us? If you do have a name picked out, why did you select it? Does the name have special meaning to you? Will you be keeping it a secret from friends and family until birth?

Our son's name is Samuel (Sam for short obviously). It's a name that we have loved for a while. It was also my great grandfathers name and we love the meaning of the name too. We are keeping it a secret from friends and family until birth because we love it and don't want opinions. We have been referring to him as that name since we found out he's a boy.

    How are you feeling?

Feeling pretty good. I'm just battling sciatic pain. Getting out of bed is a very painful ordeal but I'll survive.

Any upcoming appointments/milestones/pregnancy updates to share?

I have a routine appt Wednesday and then probably glucose test Friday. Then, I'm driving to Dallas to see my family and have one of my showers. I'm so excited!!

    Thoughts/vents?

    No vents here. :)

Baby girl's name is Evelyn Rose. We will call her Evie for short. I picked the name off a name app. I just loved that Evie could be her nickname and when she grows up she can have a "grown up" sounding name, Evelyn. I've told everyone. No one has told me that they hate it. :) lol.

His first and middle names will be Broderick Monroe, and we will call him Brody.  I've liked the name Brody since high school, and we couldn't come up with any boy names that we liked better.  His middle name, Monroe, comes from a friend I had since 6th grade who died in 2009.  Her last name was Monroe.  We aren't keeping it a secret. :)

  • @gingerkid9989‌ Congrats on third tri!! I have sciatic pain too and have never experienced it until this pregnancy. Is there anything you do or that you know that we can do to help? Sitting for long periods of time upright is really painful. I will obviously ask my OB at my next appointment but wanted to see if you find anything helpful.
  • @Robinischo‌ Welcome back! You are getting super close!! Love your son's name!

@jess123456 I have not found any remedies yet.  I just ask DH to rub my butt nightly.  Lol.  It's only temporary relief.  I have heard that icing the nerve can help and also the chiropractor.  My OB told me not to go to a chiropractor though so I haven't tried that route.  I THINK there are some stretches you can do too that will help.  Sorry I'm of no help.  Lol.

    11 Weeks yesterday - Lime :D  EDD 1/25/15

Team blue, pink, green (or do you not know yet)?

We will be finding out, but it's still too early.

    How are you feeling?

Like crap.  I thought M/S was supposed to start fading at this point, not getting worse!!! I spent nearly all day yesterday on the couch because I was so sick.  Sick at work this morning... ugh... I really can't complain because with the boys it was like this for 6 weeks straight and this time it's been a rough day every now and then, but still...

Any upcoming appointments/milestones/pregnancy updates to share?

We told my dad and step-mom, as well as all of DH's family over the weekend.  My dad, step-mom, and IL's are all super excited.  DH's grandma seemed less than thrilled, but that's fairly typical.  She reacted the same way with the boys.  We also told the boys, and they're super excited.  My youngest keeps coming up to me and tickling my tummy, saying "Hi baby!".  It's one of the cutest things in the world.
    Thoughts/vents?

Just want to not feel like crap soon, and have more energy.  I know I've been neglecting DH - I had a couple good days Friday and Saturday, but we were out at his parent's house until after midnight on Friday, and then we were up til after midnight on Saturday watching the UFC fight, so there was just no way I would be able to actively participate, so I kept putting it off, and then yesterday I was sick, and today seems to be going that way, too...

If it's another boy, his name will be Judah.  MN still undecided.  For a girl, we like Olivia and Thalia.  MN will be either Jewel or Charlize.  Jewel is my dad's father's middle name, and we'd like to use a family name somewhere, just unsure how it fits with our last name.  I won't be telling names until we know if it's a boy or girl, and we've for sure decided on a name.

  • @MoreThanSparrows08‌ So sorry about your morning sickness. It's no fun. At 22 weeks I had some out of the blue today. Yuck. I find the only thing that helps a bit is to keep eating. Love your names! I thought about Judah too. It's such a strong name.
