Hi! I have a 8 month old son who will be turning 9 months July 3. Anyways, he seems to fall asleep at 8 PM, but sometimes he falls asleep earlier, like 7:15. Is it an issue if I don't put him down at the same time every night? I heard mixed advice from family and friends, and thought it would be best to consult other people.
We put our lo down at same time most nights but if he seems overly tired then he may go to bed a little earlier. Schedules are great but sometimes they just need a little tweaking. I-)

We do this too. I think that you can go in about a half in hour in either direction but not much more.

Agree totally the latest we do is 8:30 and there are nights he's ready between 7:00 and 7:30. Also a short bath before bed always settles our lo down very nicely and gets him ready for a good nights sleep
We generally head upstairs at night at 7:30pm but as PP have said we also try to read the signs if our 10 month-old son needs gets tired early. For us the routine is more important than the time on the clock. If our son is tuckered out and gets into the bedtime routine he goes down fairly easily, whether it is 7 or 8pm. I wouldn't worry too much about small changes to the time as long as you keep the routine consistent.
We start bath around the same time (7 30 ish) but we definitely watch K's cues. For example today she was really tired and was in bed and asleep by 7 15. We just follow her lead mostly.
