Family vacation during O:GTNY

I'm leaving town on a family vacation with my DH, MIL and her BF this coming week. It's also prime time for my DH and I to TTC. What have you done when in that situation. What are some good tactics to get the In laws out of the condo so we can get busy? TIA!

Shower sex. Just make sure you've got something to hold on to. Shower sex is not sexy when you slip and fall.

It's looking like I will be in a similar situation around my FW! Luckily I will have family staying with me, and we will have our own room so I think we can sneak it in easily enough at night.

Will you be sharing a room? If not then maybe just plan some late-night or early-morning action.

If you will be sharing close quarters maybe wait for them to suggest going to breakfast or shopping and say you would prefer to stay behind and relax/catch up on a book and/or that you two had something else planned and you'll meet up with them for lunch/dinner later?

I'm with @DarcyHermione, floors can be less squeaky than bed frames

If you aren't sharing a room I would just go for it and try to be on the quieter side. If you are sharing a room I would just wait until they go to bed and stay in the living area to "watch a movie" under the covers!

We had the exact same situation last month. We ended up telling my MIL (they know we are trying) that I was ovulating and she took FIL on a drive and told us to call her when they could come back. Completely awkward. But I appreciated the alone time so we didn't waste my FW.

OMG I would have wanted to die.

Wow! I would not have been able to tell them, it would be awkward! (we are trying to not tell that we are TTC) It sounds like you have really cool inlaws though!

OMG I would have wanted to die.

It took me a good while before I could even calm down enough to do it. I was so embarrassed. I don't know how H was ready to go after that. And it was mortifying when they came back knowing we just had sex. I know my face was red.

C was conceived with my in laws in the house. We just had sex after they went to bed and more quietly than usual! Actually, we have had sex a lot with other people in the house come to think of it.

I second just doing it if you're in a separate room..

I have the same problem next month that me and Hubs are on vacation for 2 days during the FW, but we're doing (at home) donor insemination.. Can't exactly bring the donor with us! lol.. I'm hoping that my CBFM won't give me egg days while we're gone.

All great ideas, we will be on the couch. We are car pooling SO very discreet on the floor it is! My MIL doesn't we are TTC and I rather not tell anyone yet because my DH is scared we wont be able to conceive.

@Nanabee21 You are brave, I'm not sure I could do that! Def not this trip with us spending our first weekend with her first BF since her divorce.

I got KU at my in laws house. If you have your own room, then I say just go for it. Even if they hear you, ahhh who cares. You're all adults and I'm sure they have figured out by now that you have sex. To me, a little embarrassment is worth the possible outcome. PS When we were at in laws, we heard them too. It was only mildly disgusting.

I'm on a week long trip with my husbands family right now and I *think* I might be O'ing (weird cycle coming off BC). I asked my SIL to watch our daughter so her brother could impregnate me

We're cool like that. Otherwise, I'd suggest shower or car sex.

We are going on vacation Saturday for a week with our in laws and S/BIL and their baby. It will most likely be my FW. We're planning on quiet nighttime sex after everyone goes to bed or possibly shower sex if our IL's are watching our son. We will see.

My bff conceived her "oops" baby on a vacation with her in laws (they were using PNP). She called me and was like "so what is better- that we concieved while our baby was in the room or we were in the shared bathroom?" I said the bathroom and she said good bc that is what happened after one too many drinks haha

I'm going to have this problem next month! Floor is a good idea. There are a few children and teenagers going too. That makes it worse. If we have to share a room with any of them I might kill someone.

Visiting my parents during my first fertile week NTNP. My mom knows we're TTC and will likely offer to take our son to visit his great grandparents a time or two and drag my dad along with.

Wow you are all some brave women! We had couch sex once with my inlaws in the next room and I was worried they could hear so my Hubs turned on the worlds smallest fan to "disguise the noise" but I doubt that they bought that!

I have never been able to have shower sex. Someone please explain to me how this is accomplished. I'm pretty petite but how does your guy hold you up that long. Or is it more of a rear facing procedure.

Unless you're all sharing a room, it shouldn't be that big of a deal. Floor sex always works, though i definitely second the recommendation to put something down so you don't get rug burn. "Gotta be quiet, or we'll get caught sex" is always extra fun.

Maybe we are just lazy, but shower sex for us usually ends up with DH sitting on the shower floor and me on top. We don't do it often because we have a pretty narrow shower at home, so it's not the most comfortable! We've tried standing before with DH holding me, but that's only worked a couple times and only when he is hitting the gym pretty frequently

Here to, we have tried and it just never works out, we always have to get out to finish the deed. My husband is also like a foot taller than me so that could be part of the issue...

We've also got a foot difference between us. Shower stalls are harder - this weekend he was out of the shower and I was standing on the ledge leading into the shower. But a normal bathtub, you just need to put a foot (or two) up on the tub.

Yeah showers are no good for us either. DH is a solid foot taller than I am... Even if we can get into a position that works, it's not exactly enjoyable for me as I cant exactly move. Nothing sexy for me about having to stay perfectly still.

I've personally never let travel or other people being around keep me from having fun with my hubby. Though I will say if you're sharing a room you may have to get more creative. Just remember to have fun with it! Good luck!!

Floor sex. Shower sex sucks, IMO. Plus, what if someone notices you're in the bathroom together or sees you walking out both freshly showered? To me that seems like a dead give away. If you're sharing a room, I'd try "going for a walk" at night and finding somewhere discrete. If it's too risky, then I'd probably just skip that cycle and enjoy my vacation.

@KateLM That is a lot harder than we had it! I suggest bringing wet wipes and a towel ( if you have a washer you can use daily) so you don't have to run upstairs to the bathroom right away. Good luck!

@WolFox You're right, it really was! Though I'm pretty sure one night after drinks we weren't very quiet especially when my DH tried flipping me over, I thought my leg was going to break!

Just go for it when you are alone. I'm not one to be embarrassed by sex though and don't really care if they know that's what we are doing. We're married, they know it happens. We lived with family for 3 years and had to throw a lot of our concerns about that out the window if we wanted sex. We had our kids and ourselves all in one room directly across from my IL's room.

Actually we just got back from camping with my brother and his family. I was surprised, but they never even realized we dtd in our own tent each night.
