Actually, the diaphragm does begin to move before the baby even gets big enough to press on it. So I don't think she's making it up (unless she's like 15dpo or something...).
I experienced early shortness of breath and my dr told me this was common. It was surprising and freaky since obviously I wasn't expecting it to happen.
I'm not saying a little sob isn't uncommon in first trimester but nothing bad enough to complain about! I can't even imagine how I'm going to breathe a few weeks from now it's so bad!
ditto this. this is why women get dizzy/light headed during 1st tri. in fact i was more out of breath at the end of my first tri then i was in my third tri. i haven't even gotten dizzy in my third tri yet.
MrsOlson:
I actually had this from weeks 6-9. My doctor said it's because your blood flow is increasing and causing your organs to work harder. Just saying....
Re: ROFL @ first trier who has shortness of breath!

Just like MOD and lbitz are probably like, the beeches have no clue what it's like to have an 8-9 lb bee bee pushing on them!!! LOL
Ugh, why does everything have to be a competition?!
I had shortness of breath in the first and third trimesters. So what. ?
