Hi all! I'm a ftm coming from December 14. EDD is 12-3. I'm really considering going for a natural birth and wanted some insight from those of you who have been there.
I understand quite a few of you ladies have experience with hypnobirthing, something I really really want to try! I think I'm leaning more towards the hypnobabies method and I wanted to hear from those of you who have used it:
Pros and cons
How your learning/birthing experience went
And would you recommend it why or why not?
Also unfortunately I am too far away from an instructor so I would probably take the home study course, have any of you used that and in your opinion is it just as good as the classes?

    Welp, I haven't given birth yet (due in a month, FTM), but I'm in week 4 of the Hypnobabies home study course. I've really enjoyed it so far, and it's pretty comprehensive. Earlier in my pregnancy I wanted to see if I could get by with JUST hypnobirthing (Mongan) but it wasn't structured and was more of a mindset and book than a course (which was fine and nice to read, but NMS as far as learning a technique goes). I suppose everyone prefers different things but that was my experience.

    Good luck and enjoy hypnobabies if you decide to go with it. It's been totally worth it for me so far.

    I did hypnobabies homestudy for the same reason (no where near instructor) and loved it so much I want to become an instructor one day to help share it with others. My labor was a little unusual in the fact that it lasted 75 1/2 hours but even through that I was able to have an enjoyable birthing experience. I can even be seen on my home video smiling and joking in between pushes! The learning part was easy and enjoyable and I feel like It prepared me to understand what was going on with my body and relax because of that. Good luck and welcome!
