So now that this baby is here I'm realizing that often it's going to be a million times easier for me to just wear her vs having to lug her car seat inside places. I didn't realize that before so all I have right now is one of the seven slings which just doesn't seem to have a ton of support, but maybe I'm wrong? Which option is easiest for newborns and going through the next few months? I was looking at a ring sling, but wanted some feedback before I went with any one brand. Is there one that is better for hot weather than others?
(I'm on mobile so if someone has a link to where this was posted before, let me know and I'll go there.

I know there was talk months ago, but I can't remember recently.)
Re: Best baby wearing carriers
When he's a little older (starting around 3-4 months), I like a soft structured carrier...I have a Boba and love it! It's nice cuz once you adjust it, it's a quick on and off.

Also, there's a bumpie (whose name I always forget) on the AP board that has a ton of carrier info in her siggy.
I have a Moby wrap too, but I never got the hang of it with DS. There was so much extra fabric for me (I'm a skinny runner) that I had it wrapped 5xs around my waist
Mommy to R (8.23.11) and K (6.21.14).
We had a hand-me-down Bjorn that DH used a lot, but hurt my back/shoulders after 10 mins. We got an Ergo when she was about 6 months, and I love! Never hurts my back injury and she feels so secure in it. I plan to use that when DD2 is heavier and more active.
This time around, I got a K'Tan for the newborn stage- love it! All of the comfort of the Moby but so much easier to put on. Used it at the beach today to do the long walk to and from the car- some other mothers commented on how I was packing up our stuff like I wasn't even carrying a baby because I could move around so easily. With an energetic 2 year old, I need something I can put on quickly and feel secure with, and I'm so happy I got the K'Tan.

I have a Sakura Bloom linen ring sling for this baby. I've watched some YouTube videos and have been practicing with our 11 lb Toy Fox Terrier :P
The second one I tried was the K'Tan. It was ok, not as comfortable as I was hoping for. I also was right in between sizes. I was worried that once my milk came in the medium would not be comfortable at all, but large would have not held LO securely.
The one I finally purchased yesterday was the JJ Cole Agility Stretch carrier. It is by far my favorite and most comfortable. Its exactly like the K'Tan in that its "pre-wrapped", you just throw it on. However it has more stretch than the K'Tan making it a much better fit for my body. This carrier was also the cheapest!
If you have a Buy Buy Baby near you, I'd scope them out. They had about 10 different carriers all of which you can try on and test out. The only thing I'd say though is shop around bc I've been able to find a lot of these wraps cheaper on amazon
For those of you who went with the linen ring slings, did any of you try ordering one from an Etsy seller? I'm wondering how they compare with the Sakura ones since the price is so much lower.
Op, be very careful about ordering ring slings on Etsy. I did a ton of research to find what goes into a good and safe ring sling. As a pp said, Ncbelle on the Attachment board has a ton of baby wearing info in her siggy. If you are looking for a short cut, per her info I ordered acting sling from Sleeping Baby Productions. The lady is amazing. She does get super swamped with orders and closes the shop temporarily. You may want to follow her on Facebook because she's about to open again. I got my ring sling from her and love it. Comes with directions and registration card. Think I paid $55 for a linen ring sling, which is much better than gauze which you find on Etsy.
I pretty much have every type if carrier now. A Mei tai is very, very universal. If you are on a budget, go with an infantino Mei tai. If you like to spend money (like me) BabyHawk has some cute ones.
I also own a Moby, Ktan, Little Frog linen wrap, Becco Gemini, and an Ergo. Moby and Ktan will last to about 15lbs. The others will last Til toddlerhood:)
I would definitely make sure the seller accepts returns for something this expensive that you want to use daily.
I was super intimidated by the idea of learning to wrap, but seriously, you watch one youtube video and be set.
I went to a baby wearing class early in my pregnancy so I can try on all the carriers before I had a big bump in the way. I like the Chimparoo Mei Tai best...it was light weight (important for summers in texas) , easy to put on and didn't take al ot of space.
For anyone in CT looking for guidance (or anyone else interested in their online store), here is the group I found. I can't wait to bring hubby to their Cloth Diaper workshop on Saturday!
