Toss this BM?

LO was fussy almost 3 hours after a continuous nursing frenzy so I heated up 3 oz of pumped BM that had been in the fridge for a few days that I pumped excess. He fell asleep while it was heating and I was only able to get him to take 1/2oz. What should I do with leftover? Let it sit if he wakes soon (not sure how long I should let it sit) or toss?

    I always thought it could sit out for 1 hour after LO stated drinking due to bacterial growth. I hate wasting bm but better safe than sorry.

    I'd keep it until next feeding. LO did this once with a 2 oz bottle. I saved it for next time and it was fine. I wouldn't do that with formula, but BM I'd want to hang onto.

    I follow 4 hours MAX or I put back in fridge to gain a few hours..

    BM is good a LOT longer then formula, due to the antibacterial properties.

    Wouldn't heating it though decrease it'd life expectancy?

    That doesn't sound right. Life expectancy. But I'm using it.

    I totally started to use same phrase, "life expectancy." Haha. At first I thought u were making fun of me. Then I remembered. I didn't say it afterall. Baby brain still gets me. Often.
