Trouble TTC

newbie into

Hello, I'm not exactly sure what to say. I'm 32, type 1 diabetic and having tttc. I was told I don't ovulate. I've done two cycles of Clomid with the trigger shot and no luck. Recently my obgyn/specialist left the office. They transferred me,in the middle of a cycle, to a obgyn who said "I don't deal with infertility often." So we went out and found a RE. My first appointment with the RE is on the 17th. Any suggestions to ask the RE on initial consultation since I've already done two cycles of Clomid?

I don't really have much advice to offer but still wanted to say hello and wish you luck. Also, I never ovulated using Clomid. I had to move on to injections to ovulate. My situation was a little different, I had been on the depo shot for 3 years for BC and after a year of being off of it, I still wasn't ovulating. I've had good results with the injections ( well, good results in terms of ovulation, not so much in terms of pregnancy). Good luck to you.

I just wanted to say welcome and I'm glad you will be seeing a RE soon! The initial consult is usually an overview of all the testing to come and whatnot. Good luck!

  • Welcome and good luck :)
  • Welcome and Good luck!
    Fucking bump!!!!
  • Welcome!  As others have said, I'm very excited you're seeing an RE.  Unfortunately, gynos rarely know how to help and wind up being a major waste of time.

As for advice on what to ask: ask them everything that you've been stressing about.  They're used to dealing with neurotic women with a million questions so don't hesitate to unleash all your anxieties.  I asked my RE everything from whether or not my husband drinks way too much coffee (he did!) to whether or not I should have sex in certain positions because of my tilted uterus (she said no!) and if it was true that oral sex actually affects conception (it does!)

I sat down a few days before my first visit and wrote out all of the things I had been stressing about over the last few years and even though I don't know if any of that stuff made any difference, I felt a lot better just having answers to my questions from a trusted professional.
