Please help! Too sore from biting to nurse

I need help, I really don't want to wean my son but I need suggestions. He's 9 months old and teething like crazy, I've been working with him on not biting but it seems when the pain is bad he bites. I am so sore right now I can't imagine trying to nurse him. Are there things I can do to lessen the pain? I'm considering pumping during this time, how would I get started with that? I'm guessing kellysmom would have info on that. Usually we have a great nursing relationship and I really want to make it to at least a year. I just can't continue like this. Thanks.

    9 months was a tough time for me with DS! Not looking forward to that again. I actually found if I changed holds it eased up the pain. Football hold with a 9 month old isn't the easiest, but for whatever reason it kept me from being a chew toy for him.

    Not quite there yet with DS but putting a cold pack or cold wash cloth on the nips helps numb the pain for you. I froze some BMilk in cubes and give him one in a mesh feeder when he's teething. He loves it.
