Trying to Get Pregnant

cervix question.

{I've read the "newbie" blog, used the super awesome IB flow chart, and checked 3 pages back into pref threads}

I haven't really intro-ed yet because I'm still trying to find solid ground in our TTC journey, so forgive me for a pop in question!

a few background facts:
I'm still learning about cervix self checks.
11 DPO.
abnormal discharge (not ewcm) followed by (tmi) dark brown discharge tonight.

Ok, so the cervix question- I checked it tonight and it felt firm and almost disconnected. Strange way to word it, but it was very low and kind of poking out. Now, Im not asking you if I'm pregnant, but has anyone else had experience with this in early pregnancy? Im trying to hold off on testing for 2 more days as I usually have longer cycles. Is there a better board to ask this on?

TIA!

Re: cervix question.

  • Firm & low are pretty common right before AF.  But CP really doesn't mean much.  I'm literally medium to high, all the time.  I'm never what is described as low, even before/during AF I'm pretty high.  And half the time I can't tell the difference between open vs closed.  So yeah, not helpful as indicators....

  • I track cervical position and mucus. Standard low, hard, closed to high, soft, open then back to low, hard, closed. There is a definite change in my stages with mine and my cm is consistent as well. If I am a week after ovulation and not pregnant I am very low, hard, closed and DRY. Then two days before I start I get mucusy again but cp stays the same. When I got pregnant my cervix stayed medium position, semi-soft, fully closed. I never got dry. I tested 3 days before I expected to start and got a BFP.
  • Nah. If anything I'd expect it to be softer in pregnancy.

    I learned the hard way this month not to put too much stock into CP... mine went super high/soft on CD11 and we started daily sex based on that one sign. I didn't O until CD21 and I have **never** been so sick of having sex...

    We only did 4 nights in a row, my vag is so raw now.  3 is my limit.  If we didn't have sex the whole 2ww that would be just fine with me.
  • thanks for all who actually answered!

    Again, I didn't ask if I was pregnant- I asked if anyone else experienced changes in their cervix in early pregnancy because, as previously stated, I'm new to deciphering cervix changes.

    God Almighty.
  • @strawberrycheeseburger‌ I'm new here too and got a similar response to my first post/question... Of course no one can tell you whether you're pregnant and I know that's not what you were looking for. My sister in law is an OBGYN and mommy of 4 and has told me over and over again that CM means a LOT when TTC and CP falls close behind. Every woman is different, of course... But you are doing the right thing trying to get to know your body. Her best advice to me (2 months into TTC, still new!) was to just check check check... The more you get to know yourself the better you'll be in assessing changes. But pay more attention to the CM you are getting than the position... It means and tells more. Wishing you the best of luck!!!
