Baby sick on breast feeding

I am breast feeding my newborn. She nurses off of both sides (it's easier for her to latch on the right side) and for the past 3 days (not every time) when she eats on the left she projectile vomits almost as soon as I sit her up. Is there a reason for this or is it just acid reflux? I just found it odd that it only happens when she eats on the left side. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have a fast flow? The fact that it happens more on one side than the other suggests she is just getting milk a bit faster than she can handle. Spitting is usually just a laundry problem though

What PP said. My LO spits up like that if she gets overfed, or fed too quickly.

You might have overactive letdown. If she's latching on poorly to that side and your milk is coming out forcefully she would have difficulty controlling the flow which would cause her to take too much in and then vomit. Maybe. I'm not a LC by any means, but overactive letdown is a problem I have.

We went to the dr today and he said as long as she was gaining weight not to worry. He did say maybe she was eating too much in a feeding and to take her off the breast after so long. But I'm confused because all the books I've read says to offer both breasts when feeding. I think I'll just call the LC and ask what they think
