Face rash question

DS has had this little rash on his face for almost 2 weeks. It's just one little patch right by his mouth. It's red, a little bumpy and sometimes flakey (like little pieces of skin are flaking off). It kind of looks like eczema images I found via Google, but I don't know. It doesn't appear to affect him at all...like he doesn't itch it or touch it.

We called the doc last night, but he never called us back! I'd post a pic, but the day DS sits still for a close-up of his face is the day hell freezes over. Any ideas? Any suggestions of an OTC cream we can put on it? Should we take him to the pharmacy and see if the pharmacist has a suggestion? I'm not worried, but I'd like for it to go away.

  • I'd use a little cortizone cream - 0.5% or 1%.

  • Our doctor recommended hydrocortisone cream, but then we later heard that we shouldn't put that stuff on his face. If you're looking for a more natural option, colloidal silver has worked really well on DS's face rashes. We use Aveeno eczema treatment lotion for his body rashes.
