This exactly! I didn't know I had a fibroid until I had my first ultrasound and they told me it was 6cm. Last check a few weeks ago it was close to 15cm. Expect some discomfort and occasional pain. Good luck with everything!darby17 said:Hi and congratulations! I do have a fibroid - it is just outside the uterus so my RE and OBGYN said not to worry about it and that it wouldn't interfere with the pregnancy. It has caused me pain though, which they said was to be expected. It is like a sharp, crampy pain. I can even feel where the fibroid is, and can tell it has grown. First I thought it was the baby, but realized it was too low. Anyway, I usually mention the fibroid discomfort at each dr.s appointment, but they never seem to worry. It sounds like you have more than one and that they may be in a different location than mine. Try not to stress about it, I do think that the discomfort is to be expected.
Good luck with your pregnancy!
Re: 1st pregnancy after infertility. Fibroids.
January PAL siggie challenge; Good advice:
Last night I had to go to ER because of the pain, it started radiating to my rear and my back was killing me. I literally cried with pain and no amount of paracetamol seemed to help.
This morning they did a scan and revealed that the biggest fibroid is now 7cm. Baby Is fine. They said neither my fibroids nor pain should cause any distress to him. Nevertheless advised me to take 1mg of para 4 times a day. Which I think is a little excessive. Will take half of that if I can.
Thank you ladies for your replies and support
Sorry that you are having pain again. It is weird b/c I just started having pain last night. I really think it is from my fibroid, but kind of hard to tell. I was just at the Doctor on Monday for my 24 week appointment. I hadn't had any pain before that appointment, so I forgot to even mention my fibroid, and my doctor said nothing of it either.
Starting last night I have had pain on the lower, right side (where I can feel my fibroid). The pain sort of stretches across my bikini line. I was hoping it was ligament pain, but from what I read, that really comes and goes. This pain has been pretty constant since last night.
None of the doctors I have seen at my clinic seemed that the fibroid was anything to be concerned about. But now after checking w/dr. Google, I see that they can cause pre-term labor. My next appointment isn't for 4 weeks either, but if I still feel like this tomorrow, I think I'll call the nurse.

There was a Dr. Oz show about fibroids on Thursday. I missed it, but I am going to try to find it online. I just want to see what they have to say.
I didn't start feeling the baby move until about 22-23 weeks. I think that was later than a lot of people. So maybe you'll feel something soon!
